Hi there, hurry go again. I for my first time since I enjoy this rstaurant, been to the Private Dining Room, where you cannot expect to find another style on.
To start you do have your own private cottage, not only a room beside the main restaurant, to follow the service there it's made by a personnal team, wich don't really see often working in their main area. the occasion was business, and at the end of it you don't feel it been business diner. service quite the same as the main dining, with a small personnal touch of the maitre d', who i believe can make you feel like at home or not. Pricing not so different exepted for a room hire which not really high compare some other private dining in town.
well still think if you want to be treated as someone special try any of their dining room.

My overall impression of the Waterside Inn was wonderful. My car was valet parked upon arrival. The food itself was superb, with the exception of the Grand Marnier souffle which didnt taste of Grand Marnier at all & was rather sweet. The quality of the food itself was second to none, although I found the portions rather large & struggled to finish 3 courses. The staff were extremely friendly & efficient, However, a second bottle of still water was opened without being ordered & subsequently left 3/4 full. It was my fiancee's birthday & they produced, at no cost, a rumba ba with a candle, a nice touch allowing us to have dessert as well. The decor wasnt to my liking & wasnt in keeping with an Inn on the river, it felt like some odd French boudoir. It was a real pleasure to meet & talk to Alain Roux, who came across as a genuinely nice man, with a real interest in his restaurant & its customers. The bill was extremely high which I expected. Upon leaving my car was ready with the engine running & the door open, very impressive.

My wife and I went to The Waterside Inn last Friday for lunch and it was just brilliant. The food was everything you would expect and the staff were great – polite and attentive. I would not hesitate to make a return visit. 10/10 all the way.

Fantastic food, fantastic service, fantastic surroundings.
I went here with my parents and we had the most amazing time. The staff are really polite and look after you brilliantly. The food was just perfect, we had the menu exceptionnal and it lived up to every one of our expectations.
Yes it was expensive, but if you want to go somewhere special then this is the place.

Restaurant setting was beautiful. Food and service was absolutely as you expect from a restaurant of this standing but nothing so special that it really stuck to my memory. I have been to many other restaurants in London not as expensive serving better food.

I have dined here once before in the evening, but this time I came for a Sunday lunch. Once again, it impressed on all counts.
The restaurant was buzzing as ever (a few television celebrities were there too), and both Michel Roux Snr and Alain Roux were on hand to chat with each table after the meal. I think this is a nice touch, and it’s good to know that they actually work in the restaurant and value their customers. It’s also nice to chat to a chef of such high prestige and to ask him for cooking tips!
As for the food – excellent as usual. I won’t bother explaining what I had – it was rustic, it was perfectly cooked, and the ingredients were as good as they could ever be. The Roux’s don’t go in for over the top presentation like some other haute cuisine establishments I could mention. The dishes are classic and well presented. They look good to eat and of course, they ARE good to eat. Service is flawless, as you would expect from a 3 star Michelin restaurant.
A wonderful place and yes, the menu is very expensive, but for me the experience is well worth it. If you’re also a gourmet foodie, I think you would agree.

I went to the Waterside Inn for my husband and my anniversary for dinner as I had been recommended by a friend to go. I got told pretty much what to expect and what the experience would be like, and it exceeded all of that. My husband and I had one of the most amazing times ever.
We arrived and was greeted by the staff then asked if we would like a drink in the bar before we were seated which was great because we then knew that we would not be rushed in and out like what happens in other top class restaurants.
We agreed to the drink then got led to our table which was 2nd row back from the window which was great.
Overall the service was excellent as well as the atmosphere, I cannot say anything negative about it. The food though was a little old fashioned but was still good. If there could be anything improved it would be the menu. The price was expensive but well worth the visit and I will be sure to go there again.
And before I stop I have to mention Diego Masciaga, the true essence to the Waterside. No Diego...No Waterside.

Came for a birthday lunch here.
Was one of the most amazing days of my life. Words nor pictures can do this place justice, it has to be experienced to realise the true beauty of it all

My wife and I went to the Waterside Inn last week to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We had heard several rave reviews of the restaurant and were looking forward to an evening of exceptional flavours and cuisine.
We ordered the menu exceptional and ordered half bottles of wines to go with each course. For the first course, I had the bisque of the hen crab and my wife had the Foie gras. The bisque was not bad but was nothing special and I can say that I have had at least as good bisques at restaurants without Michelin stars. The Foie Gras was runny and under cooked and stringy. After the main course, we are asked (by Mr Roux himself) how we liked the food thus far. When I informed him about the undercooked Foie Gras, he looked horrified and quickly moved over to the next table.
The rest of the menu was mediocre, at best, the turbot rather bland, the lobster medallions ok and the main course of the seasonal game tasted like basic country food. The dessert was the best part of the meal and was excellent.
My overall impressions of the food were that it was very basic for a 3 Michelin star rated restaurant, where one would expect more delectable and bursting with great flavours. It was quite disappointing. I would have rather gone to the Fat Duck or even another london based restaurant which is not so highly rated.
The service was very good but the restaurant itself was quite noisy.

My name is Elodie Nevue and live in Paris. I am a wine conesouer so have therefore visited many of the top class restaurants in the world, especially french restaurants. The Waterside Inn I have to say is the BEST!
I have been going with my husband for the past twenty years and I have always felt like it is going home when I turn up. Straight away with no wait or fuss the car door is open with an enormous friendly smile then when we enter its atmosphere is exceptional.
Last week I had dinner with my husband and my two friends and was greeted as always by Diego the man who keeps the Waterside alive. As usual the service was perfect and all the waiters seem to be very very happy and willing to please people.
The food, I must say was not up to the usual standard of the Waterside. We had the lobster with ginger souce but it seemed to lack flavour as well as the famous rabbit with the chesnuts and the armagnac souce was lacking on the real flavours and I really believe that flavours have always been the strong point of the cooking of Michel Roux.
A recommended restaurant for all.
