Since my first visit last September, I have now been here at least once a month, and always managed to miss the prawn curry, although I did catch the minced lamb keema today. I can only describe the curries as splendid, so clean and fresh and no hint of oil. As I'm so positive about this place, I must find some negatives - large curries could do with an extra scoop of rice and 20p for half a pitta bread is a bit high, apart from that, this place is perfection. I also love the sparkling Cranberry drink - hopefully one day they will run out, so I will try something else. Well done, excellent food, sevice and atmosphere !!

Marsh Ruby is excellent value for money, and ideal for eating out at lunchtime. The girls are very friendly, and helpful, and the restaurant is clean. With dishes priced between £3.50- £4.00, for generous portions of curry and rice, including salad and yoghurt you cannot go far wrong.

My only "complaint" is that the premises are too small for the volume of customers, and the seating area gets very crowded. You have to get there very early if you want to eat in and get a decent seat.

My first visit was last week and it was superb - £10 for two mixed curries and 2 drinks - you can't go wrong. The curries were very "clean flavoured" with no trace of oil as I've often found elsewhere. What do I mean by "clean flavour" you ask? - basically a very fresh, not overspiced or rich flavour - maybe I'm not describing it well, but try it - I'm sure you'll like it. The meat is very good quality and the lamb was melting in my mouth. Highly recommended - I will return - very soon.

Who wouldn't love Marsh Ruby? Tasty food, simple chic surroundings, excellent service, friendly people and a great sense of community. The girls prove just how possible it is to offer free range meat and organic ingredients at value prices. They also encourage you to recycle the plastic containers and give money off if you bring yours back. Regular 'friends' of the shop got tiffin boxes for Christmas. You really get a sense that they believe in the principles behind free range/organic - they not just paying lip service so they can hike up their prices. Far from it. One reviewer wonders how they make a profit. I don't know the alchemical formula exactly, but it's a model more restaurants eateries should look at and follow. I think it's because they keep the menu small, and minimise wastage. They cook up the pots of curry and when they're done they close. That's the only downside: they're not open in the evening.
