I must say I don't think I have experienced any bar in London with such rude bar staff and am very proud to say that I will not be spending another penny in there. Not only are the bar staff themselves very rude, when I asked to speak to the bar manager himself, he could not have been more hostile towards me and used the most inappropriate and disgusting language that I have ever heard being used in the service industry. Anyone would think this place was a concentration camp not a place to have fun and enjoyment. The toilets are also revolting. There are plenty of wonderful places to go to around Shoreditch where you will be treated like a human being not a rabid dog.

Awful place. Bar staff surly and rude. Food mediocre. No reason to go back.

I wish I'd read some of these reviews before celebrating my birthday, post pub here. We only came here as the place I wanted to go was closed and this was nearby. For some reason the door staff were so rude and only let three people in at a time, although once inside the place was half empty! We were a mixed sex group, so I don't see why there was a problem there. Having spoken to the manager, we all managed to get in, but the door staff's attitude put a bit of a dampener on things. I would advise people to try other places than put money in people's pockets that don't know a good customer when they see one.

Fantastic food, fabulous venue and really friendly staff.
The Bar Music team have hosted two major events for Amnesty International UK in Shoredich over the last six months.
Catering for 250 hungry conference delegates is no easy task but the team made us really welcome and served up delicious meals ranging from a hearty beef lasagne to Moroccan vegetables tagine.
Quality all round, we'll definately be back.

My company chose Bar Music Hall for our 2006 Christmas Celebrations and enjoyed this immensely.
The menu was superb and the service commendable all 50+ staff reported that they had enjoyed themselves and loved the choice of menu.
I would definitely recommend Bar Music Hall to other companies as the staff are very friendly and helpful, along with a great atmosphere.
My only comment would be the music on the night was not as varied as we would of hoped, but in general most got up and had a good dance.

Two words come to mind when I think about my experience at Bar Music Hall: boo and hiss.
My friend had booked an area for her birthday party in mid December that ended in disaster! We arrived on time to secure our table and enjoyed some drinks and nibbles while waiting for the remainder of the party to join us. The bar staff and nibbles weren’t memorable, but not bad. An hour into our stay (approx 9pm) more of our friends arrived, but were held outside in a queue by the rudest door staff I have ever encountered. Holding people outside because they “feel like it” and can “turn away anyone they want” is not acceptable. The place was nearly empty. Creating false queues is just plain annoying and stupid as Bar Music Hall has large windows so everyone waiting outside in the cold can clearly see there is plenty of seating and standing room inside.
We promptly abandoned the place and took the birthday girl and her 30 friends around the corner to a more welcoming establishment.
This delayed review is stems from Bar Music Hall recently contacting my friend to encourage her to post a review on several websites. Idiots.
Don’t waste your time and money at Bar Music Hall!

We held our wedding brunch at Bar Music Hall the morning after our wedding.
Thay gave us exclusive use of the whole restaurant for several hours and provided a full English breakfast (buffet) plus juices, tea, coffee and fruit for 100 people at £10 per head.
The food and service was excellent and they happily agreed to all our requests. Bar Music Hall is a fantastic venue in the middle of Hoxton. A huge open space - stylish and affordable. We were so impressed that i recently returned there for my birthday - another group event which they were happy to accomodate. Love it.

Went for a friend's B'day party (reserved tables and everything). By 9pm 15 people from our party were in and having a good time drinking cocktails. A few minutes later we see the remaining 5 people from our party (including birthday boy's better half) having trouble getting in. Bouncers/management would not let them in no matter what (even though the place was half empty). By 9.15pm 15 people walking out to go to the bar round the corner and have a much better time! To this day I cannot fathom how any business can be so willing to lose so many people for the sake of a ridiculous door policy. Why have such a strict door policy but then start it at 9pm? Any old tom, dick or harry can walk on in before then (I got in!) and stay all night. I'm not that bitter....I'm sure with a door policy like this they'll be going bankrupt within a year.

Don't bother going here unless you want to be exposed to a draconian door policy run by someone who declares,"I'm on the door" and won't let anyone in unless they "recognise" them. The place was half empty. Avoid.
