Jashan has been our local Indian for c20 years and I cannot commend it highly enough.

We are Indian and like others find it difficult to be satisfied with the Indian food on offer in London restaurants. Jashan is the exception, while the decor may be a little worn and the facade could do with a makeover, the food is FABULOUS, delicately spiced and varied. The staff are considerate, able to adapt and deal with large numbers and they manage expectations/wait time well. We have been to the Michelin starred Indians in London and really in terms of cuisine Jashan is up there as one of the best.

If you enjoy Indian food, it is your duty to go!

There were eight of us this evening and we had an amazingly wonderful meal.

Every dish was perfect, and we all enjoyed the starters and main meals.

Thoroughly reccomend this top restaurant.

Thankyou to all the staff, who are so polite and friendly too.

Many thanks for a wonderful evening.

Decided to go to this restaurant after reading the reviews of others, I was pleasantly surprised the service was amazing even though I arrived so late they was still able to sit me within 10 minutes. The staff were very welcoming and polite on off the best customer service I have received in a while.

The food didn’t disappoint either the same standards as the staff. The food was beautifully presented, it was filling, tasteful and the flavours were very nice. One of the best Indian restaurants I think I’ve been too.

The price was very cheap for the service and food we received, would definitely recommend any one to go.

Been to Jashan many times over this last one year. We love the food there. Being from India, we find it very difficult to be satisfied with the taste and quality of Indian food here in London. But Jashan is one big exception. In fact Jashan feels just like a restaurant back home. We have been working through their menu steadily....love their Sunday thalis. Like their biriyani as well, though we are used to another style of biriyani. This is so far one of the best biriyani we have had in London. And thank God they do not serve it with vegetable curry!

We like the decor, service is swift yet friendly. Had Jashan been somewhere in central London it could have charged a bomb!

i cannot agree with andrews comment at all.

have been to this place recently for the first time. it is authentic Indian food and every dish tastes different. This is not the run of the mill bangladeshi restaurant offering the same basic stock or gravies under different names like madras, kadia, pathia etc.

the food was freshly cooked and the meat was moist and tender, not rubbery and overcooked like many other places even famous ones which pass for Indian restaurants. I met the owner/main chef and it turns out he had trained in one of the best colleges for training as a chef in cooking Indian and other cuisines. I have been to this place myself and sampled the food at this college (beats masterchef).

if this place was in mayfair, people would pay ten times as much for this food.

this is as close to authentic indian food as you will get in the uk. I know, as I am from India and I was iimpressed.

can say that for less than a handful of other so called Indian restaurants.

WARNING - This is the Turnpike lane Jashans, not to confuse with Wembley/ealing road Jashans.

Stumbled upon this restaurant a few years ago as there was nothing else in Turnpike lane that we fancied. Took a risk and the pay off was immense. This is by far the best indian cuisine i've tasted. Here's why:

The meats (particularly the BBQed one) are cooked to tender succulent perfection. Marinades are tasty and deep in the meat. Sauces for curries are rich and well balanced. You can tell they make these from scratch as i've had quite a few off the menu and they all taste completely different (aka stay away from all the standard curry houses and brick lane establishments as the obvioulsy use the same base sauce for all their dishes).

I recommend the Murgh Jalfrezi (you've not had it like this before!), Lamb chops, Murgh makhan masala, Murgh Vindaloo, Chicken Afghani (now off menu but you can still order it), Prawn puri, Chick pea potato starter (cant remember the name) and their garlic naan is awesome. There are loads more and the point is that nearly all the dishes i've had there are fantastic and the quality is consistantly good across the menu and each time i've visited.

The waiters are quick, courteous, friendly and remember not only our faces but what we've previously ordered from weeks/months before. I should mention that they rarely carry notes and take the order all from memory - they've never got our order wrong.

The drinks are present as standard but they do a small selection of their own alcoholic and non alcoholic cocktails which are divine. Prices are reasonable, though some may find them pricier than their local curry take out but i'd bare in mind that for a £7 dish with £2.50 rice/naan, paying a few more quid is completely worth it for the experience.
