Incredible poor service forcing us to walk out before receiving our mains. Starters were fine. But then had to wait over an hour to be told they were out of one dish and therefore had clearly only just started to cook our tables food. The restaurant wasn't busy and we weren't the only ones not receiving food.

The worst thing was the music and the fact that having politely asked for them to turn it down to be told either 'no' (not even 'sorry') or 'we can't turn it lower'. It was such a relief when towards the end of our meal, when they wanted to close, they turned it off and we could relax in peace.

This is a restaurant which is very close to theatres and the last thing you want after a good play or show is to have music you haven't chosen intruding on your post theatre meal/drink.

We ordered tapas and got overcharged - should be 5 plates for £20 and they tried to bill us 5 x 4.95. Some of the dishes had too much bread, soggy inside. The chicken kebab and prawns were fine.

The silver birches in the restaurant are quite a nice touch; it could be a fair restaurant but...

Unpleasant evening. We got billed too much. The manager said the only way to get the money back was to reclaim the waiter's tip.

I was at this restaurant and ask for pizza "picante". It was so terrible spiced that I couldn't eat it. Called manager and they didn't bother to acknowledge that I was misled. Not impressive with management response. Never again..

We tried Zizzi's on The Strand as a change from Pizza Express. The restaurant which is down a flight of steps, is very nice and atmospheric. We had some olives as a starter with 3 Arancini. We asked for these to share between four of us - so why bring 3?? portion control gone mad.

For the main course three of us ordered pizzas which sounded nice enough from the menu description. I ordered a Diavolo, I'm afraid to say it was the poorest pizza I have had for a long time sparsely topped and impossible to cut as it was so incredibly hard. My wife had a similar experience, very poor pizzas and not a patch on PIzza Express.

I have to say the service was excellent very friendly and attentive, but overall I was very dissapointed with the Zizzi experience.

the atmosphere is lovely and the food very good. In addition they have the most kind and attentive staff. I was looked after by a charming lady from Poland, Yagoda who took great pains to look after me as I was lunching alone

thank you all!
