Olive Garden (Southfields)

Dismal lunch to celebrate my son's 3rd birthday. I had previously been to this restaurant about a year ago when the staff were cheery and welcoming but we had a pizza with very skimpy toppings. Wanting to give it another go I went back to share a pizza with my son. The service was fine but the waitress looked so burned out and could barely raise a smile to wish my son a happy birthday. I was so disappointed. 1 pizza and glass of wine set me back over £17 because they had added 12.5% service. I would only give it 2.5% for overall experience! Grubby and in need of a facelift.

Went here alone, really nice place, good friendly service and really great pizza in really good portions. Puts pizza hut to shame.

Very disappointing meal. We both had pasta, both dishes were distinctly average and lacked flavour. The bacon (Amatriciana) did not taste of bacon rather cheap meat??? and the tomato sauce was like what you would find on a supermarket shelf. On the plus side the portions were very large, almost to make up for the poor quality food. On the flip side, it meant you had to eat more, which we didnt.

It is a delightful restaurant with very nice food. The food is reasonably priced and they have good selection of wines. I really liked the place, though they have one or two waitresses who aren't as welcoming but that's okay.

We visited the Olive Garden in Raynes Park on the evening of Friday 21st January 2011. What a HUGE disappointment!!!! The food was mediocre and expensive for what it was; service brusque!! We arrived at 9.15 p.m. to be showed to our table by a surly waitress, who kept looking at her watch. She hassled us for our order and seemed in a hurry to see the back of us. We ordered a pizza and lasagne, the lasagne consisted of thick layers of pasta with a meat sauce poured over it, it was barely hot, but quite honestly, I couldn't be bothered to complain. According to my partner, the pizza wasn't fantastic and certainly no better than anything served up in a Pizza Express restaurant - we were hoping for a point of difference as this establishment is independently run!!

I felt that the automatic service charge of 12.5% was excessive, especially for an establishment which isn't high end dining and we didn't receive spectacular service either!!

We left without acknowledgement from any of the staff and quite honestly, wouldn't consider a return visit any time soon!!!

What a great place to eat, service is great and food is FAB !!!! Its also great for takeaway, the pizzas are a good price and so much better then that Pizza Hut rubbish. Iam a Concierge and have ate at many italians this is one of the best local italians in South West london !!

Went to OG Raynes Park last night as never been before and really fancied Italian food. Were really surprised at how busy it was on a Wednesday night and didn't think we'd get a table as we hadn't booked. Although the main restaurant was full, there were a few tables in the deli side and the waitress was more than happy to seat us there. The waitresses were all very lovely, the service was excellent and the food was amazing.......!!! We had a look at the deli counter whilst waiting for our food and would have probably bought most of the shop if we'd had a way of carrying it home!!

We had a 'sharing platter' between the two of us and it would have been more than enough for four as a starter!!! Packed full of meats and peppers etc it was just delicious!! Were seriously worried about not being able to eat our main course however there was absolutely no way we were not going to eat them when they arrived.......Hubby had the carbonara and I had Amatriciano ...... both absolutely DELICIOUS.

Overall we were very impressed with the atmosphere, the service and food....will definately go back again but will book next time!!!

We popped in last night - we've lived locally for about 3 years and never thought to go in here. How wrong we were - late-ish on a Saturday night, service was swift and prompt. Awesome pizza, great risotto, nice buzz, great neighbourhood restaurant. For SW18 pizza aficionados, Olive compares with the quality of Mascalzone on Putney High Street.
