Prezzo (Euston)

I visited Prezzo Euston Road with my girlfriend a few weeks ago and the manager was very rude to us. We arrived quite late after getting of the train from Euston but I've eaten there a few times before and know they serve until 11:30pm so there shouldn't have been a problem as we had a couple of hours to spare, but I expect she just wanted to get out of the place by the way she behaved towards us - she didn't really want to seat us even though the place was only about 40% full and then once she did she couldn't get us out of the door fast enough! All decent service standards went right out of the window. We may as well have been in Burger King!
As for the food, it was massively low standard. portion control is evident in this place - miniscule amounts of the supposed main ingredients on both the soggy pizza and over dressed salad. Yuk! I wouldn't feed it to a dog.
Eat here at your peril - I never will again!

I have been to Prezzo on 2 occasions now in Euston Road with my work colleagues and we all thoroughly enjoy it. We used to go to the one in Tottenham Court Road but for some reason that closed. Living in Potters Bar I have also eaten in the branch at High Barnet on several occasions which is also very nice.
Prezzo is one of my favourite places to eat. The food is great and well presented and also very reasonable. I myself have never had cause to complain about small portions.
I have also always found the staff to be very on the ball and friendly and have never had a bad experience.
Give it go, you'll probably enjoy it!

Visited this restaurant before boarding Caledonian Sleeper and have to comment that the food, serviice and above all value for money were exceptional.
Having done business for 9 hours during that day in the city myself and my colleague required something wholesome, tasty and relaxing. Our needs were fully met. An exhaustive choice of menu both for food and wine met us. Service was pleasant, mannerly and above all friendly.
Shall certainly look forward to revisiting this establishment next time while in the city, whether on business or pleasure.

Now I know this is a chain restaurant, but man alive, the service in this place is pretty awful.
Bored, disinterested staff stare into space while you sit there, menus closed, looking expectantly in their direction. The restaurant itself is a cacophony of noise, and depending on where you sit is either freezing or baking hot.
My friend is disabled, and on more than one occasion has had to queue to use the disabled loo while staff are in there, babbling on their phones. When you do get access to the disabled loo, it's often full of spare chairs. This is not a storeroom folks! Sort it out!

Visited the restaurant with a large party of people (12). We had pre-booked as we knew that we would not be arriving until 10pm. The manager said that this was fine, but informed us that they closed at 11.30, which was OK. I called in earlier to leave a deposit on the booking, which was declined.
When we arrived we were treated rudely from the outset, with a very abrupt waiter and felt immediately hassled. The restaurant was almost empty, and two of the party were in wheelchairs and trying to find somewher to be accommodated.
The staff would not move any of the tables and the manager was very put out that they were in the restaurant at all. They were told not to block the area, as other customers could not get by. They were at the back of a nearly empty restaurant at 10pm, so unlikely to be in the way. As a result the two people in the wheelchairs left the restaurant to seek a meal in somewhere more accommodating.
Food was reasonable, but the whole experience overshadowed by the completely negative and rude attitude of the manager a male waiter. As we were a large party we we even charged 10% service charge!!
I will certainly never visit that restaurant again after such unecessary, shameful and discriminatory behaviour. (May 9th 2007)

I needed somewhere close to Novotel to take friends for a quick evening meal (2 Dec 06) and wasn't forewarned by the very negative previous reviews.
Someone at their HQ in Woodford Green clearly got the message in the interim because the service, portions, quality and value for money I would rank 7 or 8.
My friends from Paris are spoilt and very picky. They expected nothing and loved the place instead. Even the Italian chadonnay was good. The manager came to check if everything was OK.
If it wasn't before it is now. You can eat there with comparative confidence.

I went here with a friend for lunch as we work close to Euston Station, this was the second time I have been here but on both occasions I was disappointed with the portion sizes of the dishes. I spoke to a waitress about my concerns and told me that this was the standard size and could not give larger portions (I only wanted a little bit more pasta) how stingy is that! After that the manager came over and asked it everything was OK and I mentioned to him the stingy portion size and he said there was nothing he could do about it. Then when every I looked up he was eyeballing me, just staring - how rude, then the deputy manager joined in and just stared at me as if I was going to do a runner - how rude is that. I won't be going back again - rude staff!

On Thursday last week (24 August) I went for lunch at Prezzo with a colleague with whom I work. We wanted a restaurant to go to that would serve tasty food, with swift service and deliver good value for money. We are lucky in that we work close to this establishment, but found to our delight that this restaurant delivered all of these things. The service was swift and we were kept amply equipped with drinks, food and the bill when we asked for it. It wasn't service that made us feel hurried but was prompt. The food was delicious and all in all was a great culinary experience, to the extent that we are planning to have a team lunch there in the near future. The only criticism would be that the table could be larger, although they are larger here than many London restaurants and it is probably not possible without raising the price. We noticed Prezzo’s popularity as we left: I said high to one of the partners from where I work as I left and then said hello to our CEO (at another table)!! I would recommend this restaurant to my friends….

We gave this place two chances - it failed on both occasions. The first time the portions were inexplicably minute (this was not us being subjective, the people on the next table with the same pasta dishes had twice the amount of food on their plates), but otherwise it was alright in a bland sort of way. We returned today because well, lets face it, Euston is a restaurant wasteland - and this time, my friend actually said as she ordered that she was very hungry & asked if it would be possible to gave a large helping of pasta - a note was made - tiny portions later arrived. The manager later asked if everything was OK, the portion size was mentioned, very politely, and he said portions are all standardised (rubbish - again, even between our two small portions there was huge variation, one was small the other miniscule). He basically didn’t want to hear anything other than a compliant "yes it's lovely thank you" & he left to tell all the staff what had been said. Still very hungry we ordered desserts - my friend asked for cream with hers and was told that it was not standard, but could be done. She was later told it would cost an additional 80p for cream, so she declined it. By now every member of staff in there and discussed the fact we had mentioned the portion sizes and they all came over & peered at our plates to see if it was really true - all this was done loudly within ear-shot - it made us v uncomfortable. The desserts came - I can’t imagine any other excuse for what turned up, apart from them having deliberately halved the portion sizes out of spite. It was quite ridiculous; a tiramisu portion was 6cm square. Anyway, we paid up and left feeling ripped off and embarrassed. We won’t return. They take advantage of the fact that there are virtually no competitors in the area and obviously aim for "standard". But why? pasta is hardly the most pricey of ingredients, we were not asking for huge portions, just ones fair for the price tag - why not raise their game to match customer expectation? Because they don’t have to... so, diner beware.

We go there once a month as quite a large group ranging from 8 people up to 12 people. We have always found the food to be lovely and the service unhurried (which we like) and the staff friendly. I can't understand why some people think it's terrible - we have always had a good experience there. Perhaps it's because we always go at the weekend and it's not as busy?
