A good local restaurant that we use frequently.

Portions are very large, so we tend to order fewer dishes than we would elsewhere. Service is ok but not brilliant, but the food is very good - we've never been disappointed. Chicken Shaslick Super is excellent and there are some very good vegetable dishes on the menu such as Palangu Saag.

Now a favourite with me and my husband, and occasionally work colleagues and friends. Well priced and low key, typical local place, but the food is much better than your average neighbourhood curry place. I was new to Nepalese food but now prefer it to standard Indian fare as the flavours are so fresh and not too hot for my Westernised palate!

One of the best things is the variety of vegetarian dishes. I like to go without meat a few times a week and its a pleasure to do so here. I can recommend the Navrattan curry, the lovely lentil daals and the crisp paneer samosas.

Never had a problem with service though would agree they could be friendlier. Still I have no hesitation in recommending Monty's to my friends!

Food not particularly flavoursome, but large portions.

Service efficient but unwelcoming and a little surly.

Thus not particularly good value...not as cheap as the food or service would justify.

On the plus side, handy location and nice interior design...wood carvings and the like.
