Went on a 50% of deal (which I am always very wary of). The food was absolutely delicious especially the lamb chump with beans. And the apple crumble and crème anglaise was perfect comfort food. A much, much better eating experience than I had anticipated.
The bad stuff was that it was cold in the restaurant and we sat with our jackets on for most of the evening. Service was really, really slow – it took them about 20 minutes to come and take our wine and food orders. There was a cheese / wine / port service board in the corner which caused us no end of mirth – looked like a church fete tombola!
The price (with the deal) was good - £30 each all in but am not sure I would return for dinner. Go if you live in the area and are curious...... They are starting a brunch menu and that might be worth trying……
