This is a great restaurant. Thaitanic is the sister restaurant of the Thai Corner in Highbury (the menus are exactly the same), but the decor here is a little more 'restauranty' than the Thai corner Cafe. Recommend the aubergine black magic - to die for! Service was lovely, food great, a real local treasure.

With such a brilliant name i had to visit. And all the previous reviews were right, this place is a gem!

Went on Saturday night with my boyfriend and got an excellent table by the window with no booking.

We started with the Peking Duck - lovely, and some satay chicken which was also nice. I had the trusty Green Curry for main, but with salmon which made a tasty change. My boyfriend went for the only thing on the menu with three chillies next to it, can't remember what it was called but it was also really nice.

In total our bill came to about £45 with a fair few beers as well, very reasonable for the feast we had!

Definitely worth a try! One of the best Thais i have had in London.

The Food is excellent. I have been to a few good Thai restaurants in the area and I would have to say this is so far the best. The staff are very efficient and friendly and the atmosphere was good. I found the price to be very reasonable for the quality of food and service received. I will definitely be going again soon.

Thaitanic is a little gem! I'm not a great fan of Oriental food in general, as it sometimes tastes all a bit samey, but you certainly can't say that about Thaitanic. Here, all the dishes have their own unique flavours and it definitely caters to all tastes, from salads to curries, to soups and grilled meats and even a separate extensive menu for vegetarians.

Going on a Saturday evening, we were greeted by friendly and attentive staff, (although they seemed to have a habit of dropping things from corkscrews to cutlery, but I'm sure that was just a one off!) It wasn't overly busy and the ambience was very relaxed yet sophisticated.

The variety on the menu is so extensive that it took us ages to decide what to eat, but I can highly recommend their duck pancakes which isn't the typical artery- clogging experience, but juicey, tender pieces of duck cooked to perfection. The Thaitanic special is also a must-have if you like your meat.

Portions at Thaitanic are generous, making us too full to sample their desserts. The prices were very reasonable including a bottle of nice red wine! We'll definitely be coming back to sample more of the menu. A lovely place for a special meal without stretching your purse strings!

A really good and inexpensive Thai restaurant. Tuesday was my first visit and as there were only two of us there are a lot of dishes still to sample. Mixed starters included little fish cakes, spring rolls, spare ribs, prawn toasts and a vegetable dumpling. All light and delicious. I had whole crispy fried fish, one of the house specialities as my main course and it was the best I have had in the UK - perfectly spiced and not a bone to be found! A happy reminder of the wonderful cuisine and friendly service you seem to get practically everywhere in Thailand

This is the best Thai restaurant in London.

Found it by accident whilst plodding through Crouch End one day with my girlfriend. We were laughing at the name when the waitress started to call us in. The broken English hawking took me instantly back to Ko Phi Phi, Phuket, Bangkok, etc.

The food is good solid Thai fare. However, the other review has hit it right on the head with the salads. The salads are exceptional and I have tried every one of them. The vegetarian aubergine salad is particularly good, and it is nice to see a vegetarian dish that does not try to emulate its meat equivalents.

My only gripe would be the noise from the road. If you are a smoker, like all the best people are, you have to sit near the front windows. On a hot day these are open to a very busy road. That's fine if you are looking out over a beach in Phi Phi, or onto the bustle of Bangkok travel. Looking at an old telephone exchange and the morbid drudgery of British people moping around does not have the same resonance. However, there are plenty of other seats in the place that are much better, so ask to sit in a non-smoking area and either a) ask for an ashtray and see what happens, or b) go an stand by the bar if you want a cigarette ;P

Service/prices/etc all good. Beats CATS any day of the week.
