I'm a flight attendant, flying to London quite often. One of my Malaysian friend was working as a chef in U.K last time, he always bring me to good restaurant. I only went once to most of the restaurant, because i want to try other restaurants. But C & R has draw my attention, the foods there are pretty good compare to other Asia restaurants in London.

Fried rice is the BEST selection! Big portion & tasty! Their services, somehow still better than few busy Hong Kong restaurants nearby that area. I MUST have my meal there at least once every time i fly to London. Keep up the good work!

I went to this restaurant becasue i am half english and chinese malaysian. I have family in Malaysia and have been to visit them 15 times. So i have ate the food from there many times and love it with all my heart. It is the best food in the world. I am from Sheffield, Yorkshire and there isnt a Malaysian restuarant anywhere up north at all. So when i came to london for the day i checked on the net before i set off to see if there was anywhere that would sell malaysian food. I fould this restaurant and thought that i`d try it out.

So i found the restuarant and straight away the second i walked in, i had a smile on my face because the smell inside reminded me of Malaysia. I thought that it was good straight away. Then i got seated with my girlfreind and mum who also have been to Malaysia many times and read the menu. The menu was impressive with most famous and classic Malaysian dishes on it. I thought that i was in heaven. I had my favourate (char kwey twoi) which means (fried flat noodles). I recommend it to anyone. I give it compared to the real deal in Malaysia at least 7/10 and i was really happy. I felt like i was sat in Malaysia eating at one of the stoles in the middle of a food court expect it wasnt 38 degrees. Plus with my food i had the classic Soya Bean ice drink and it was fantastic. After that i was so happy and excited i thought i would have something else. So i had another classic called (Roti Canai) that comes with a curry sauce to dip into. I also recommend it 100%. Compared to the real deal in Malaysia i give it 9/10. It was literally the same. My mouth is watering thinking about it. Then i had to have another drink so i had a drink called (Teh Ice with milk). Please try it. Its beautiful.

Well i think you know what i thought of this restaurant and i will definately be going everytime that i go to london. Plus all the meal that i had came to £13.50. That is very good especially for London. Compared to Malaysia where it would have all been 7 Malaysian Riggit or 1 english pound.

Anyway i have to finish this very long review on a nice note and say that this restaurant was very nice and makes me proud to be half Malaysian.

An outstanding place for a great value gastronomic experience!! I've been going to this restaurant for over 6 years, and STILL the price does not compare to the understanding of the true culinary skills of Malaysia! If you’ve been to Asia and have experienced the hustle and bustle, then be prepared to be in close proximity to others. But with such a hidden treasure no wonder this place wants to fit lots of people inside…

My favourites are Kang Kung Blachan, (Spicy green vegetables, for those who do not know Malay food!) this dish is outta this world! Along with Kampung Style Nasi Goreng, (Spicy fried rice) and Char Kwey Teow! (Wok fried flat noodles with seafood) But there is nothing on this menu that I would consider anything less than exceptional taking into consideration, price and nearly forgot to mention the huge portions!

I cannot reiterate if you’re looking for cheap, huge portions and true tasting fantastic Malay food this is the place for you.

P.S. I also heard that a sister restaurant of C&R’s has opened in Bayswater…must check that one out too!!

Happy eating everyone! xx

Chicken rice is not a patch on my Mums. Hokkien mein is nothing like it is back home as the restaurant uses thin noodles and normally it is big fat noodles.

I am from Belgium and lived in South-East Asia for 20 years. When I was in London 6 years ago I discovered this little café and decided to try it - it was really good and it felt like being in Singapore. Very good LAKSA and ROTI CANAI, CHICKEN Rice to name a few. Ever since, every time I go to London - about every 18 months - C 1 R Restaurant is a must and every time I enjoy the meal. Quality has remained the same. Keep up and see you next time....

I've been looking for a great Malaysian place since Mata Hari Bistro in Vauxhall closed down - this is a great alternative. I had the Kampung Style Nasi Goreng which was lovely (and huge) though not "very spicy" as advertised on the menu, along with gorgeous hot roti canai. I'll definitely be returning!

Food was great value for money as they serve large potions. Tasted way better than any Malaysian/Singaporian food I have tried in London.

However, as the case with many restaurants in Chinatown, service was not impeccable. Yes, you do have to make an effort to make eye contact with waiters, especially during busy times. Does not take too long for the food to arrive. I doubt if anyone expects perfect service at all unless it is a very fancy restaurant, which C & R is not.

Had the Nasi Goreng (Malaysian) style. It was terrible. Marks 4 out of ten. Cendol was not so good either. I will not be going there again.

What a great meal. Nice cafe, very fast-paced Asian, not a lot of room, white walls and bright lights. The portions are very flavoured and very generous, even a big guy like myself couldn't eat everything. I will make this my new regular lunch spot in China Town. However, the green tea comes in a tea bag, it is draughty upstairs so sit downstairs and the prawn crackers are very filling and can spoil the meal. Otherwise excellent value.
