Venus in the Park

My boyfriend booked this restaurant as a surprise and what can I say - it was perfect. When we walked in we were greeted by the owner and shown to our table. The service was excellent as was the food. The portions were real big and the food was piping hot.... the waiter was very friendly and very attentive - who could ask for more. As we were leaving the owner (Phillip) came and shook our hands and asked if we were celebrating an occasion, my partner said yes and he offered us free drinks on the house. We talked and he gave us a hug as we left. I would recommend this restaurant 100% and we will be going there again.

Well what can I say, I opted for a romantic meal with my girl friend. The attention received from the point the door was opened for us, our coats put away safe . The perfected attention of the staff and the delightfull food. a experience both my girl friend and myself will be repeating some time soon. even thinking about booking this for our wedding.. grade a

we had a party there in october there was 14 off us, it was the best place ive been for entertainment, the singer there was just fab, when i get married i definetly want him as my entertainment, food was great service was great, all of us said the best resturuant they have been to.

Have just attended a birthday party at this restaurant and have to say that all 40 guests had an excellent night here. Was really surprised how well our party was catered for. Our food was excellent ( all served together and hot!) the steaks in particular were fantastic. The staff were friendly, efficient but not too intrusive. The owner, Philip I think his name is was very friendly and couldn't do enough for us to make sure we had a supurb night. I do not live locally but will definitely be returning for their special greek night at the end of October

now were to start?

i have to say i must disagree with most of the reviews

we had a table for 8 for a birthday on a friday night in june and have to say the food was 2 out of 10 yes 2 out of 10 we have had better food and a lot better service in a working mans cafe.

the service was very bad my family said that the food was the worst thay have ever had and would not return.

you can have a good looking restaurant ? and this restaurant and the atmosphere is nice but if the food is BAD then you will not return and we will not.....

When entering this restaurant about a year ago i was greeted by two very friendly members of staff, one being the owner. Once seated my partner and myself were given the menues and the drinks were ordered. We were in no rush to order and were told to call a mamber of staff when ready. The menu had a varied choice to choose from. When i ordered i chose a T-bone steak and my partner had a beef stroganoff to which both meals were absolutly delicious. The company of the staff was great, the the meal was lovely, the decor of the restaurant was supurb and all in all i had a lovely time. I now go here at least once a month.

We happened to stumble upon this restaurant hiding under the bridge at mile end. I have to say I was very impressed with the decor and the style of the restaurant. My partner and I shared the Halumi cheese and garlic mushrooms to start which were very nice. Unfortunatly (for me) my main course - I chose the duck and apple sauce, and had to pay extra for some carrots and saute potatos. This was a very dissapointing meal. I think the duck was boiled and was completely tastless, the carrots also tasted watery and with no real flavour. My partner on the other hand went for a typically Greek dish of Lamb which was delicious and well prepared. Overall my meal put me off this restaurant as it was so bad I couldn't finish it.
