Busaba Eathai (Bird St)

After hearing so many people harp on about this place I had to try it for myself. I was pleasantly surprised. We had the ostrich, calamari and chicken green curry. All are great.

Having tried Thai restuarants in town and locally I was surprised that a chain restaurant could pull off good food, quick service and reasonable price. Lets hope Thai Square will learn a thing or two.

My only disappointment are the fusion drinks which appear exotic on the menu but are basically carton juices and cost £3 for about 200ml. A let down.

I will be back to try the other dishes.

Ate here in a group of 6. Sorely disappointed in the tiny portions served - definitely not value for money. The waitress realized 15 mins after getting our order for hot sake that they were out. And is pad thai supposed to be this sweet?

Service was appaling. Rude, unhelpful staff with such an attitude problem. I had to send my meal back as it was not as described (loaded with chilli) and when I questioned it as it was not listed in the menu as having chilli or as being spicy (s) I was told that it was a Thai restaurant so everything has chilli and is spicy. The waiter argued with me for about 5 mins before agreeing to re-cook the meal without the chilli. I saw other staff bringing out meals they couldn't name so diners had to guess if the dish was theirs or not. At one point a waitress took a drink off a diner that was not finished and had such a problem when the diner asked for the drink back, finished it and put it back on the waitresses' tray. There were some very dirty looks and a clear attitude problem from all the staff we were served by.

Went to this restaurant last night for the first time and I really just loved it, great food, great service and a lovely atmosphere - what more could you want at such reasonable prices! Will defintely be back.
