we had an excellent dinner...the schiacciatella was sooooo yummy, just like the real roman pizza bianca....my linguine with clams excellent ( I had same or worse in Rome) the portions were generous but not over the top and the ambiance friendly even if decor very 'habitat' ....it's nice to start the meal with a good prosecco wine ( which reminds me of Bergamo and Venezia ) and my daughter and my husband had equally yummy dishes of pomodoro and seafood.

we are going there again....

much nicer than other chain restaurants...in fact ...didn't quite feel like a chain restaurant at all.

I am a foodie, a chef and I am Italian, so this review is more than complimentary!

i am very down to earth and I hate posh and long words to describe places ( especially high street eateries ...as if they were the Ritz or Nobu )

well done Strada.

Ritornero'!

Very nice. The staff are friendly. One particular waitress is very funny and quite cheeky.

The food is excellent and portions large. The Pollo Alla Romana is very very good.

The only drawback is the lack of starter sized pastas and rissottos.

I was a little sceptical about visiting this restaurant due to the listed reviews; nevertheless, my mother and other half were attending the TCM Blackheath Halls to see Dialogues des Carmelites on 22nd June, and had booked a table at Strada. When I made the reservation, the manageress was very polite. Unfortunately we were running a little late, but that didn't phase the restaurant staff. They were extremely amenable and very accommodating to ensure that we had our meal in time to go to the opera.

The food was very good too!

We have enjoyed our visits to Strada in Blackheath in the past and always found the quality of the food excellent and good value. Last evening was no exception £ 60.00 for an early meal for four adults and two children. Two baskets of pesto bread for a starter, a main course each, a glass of wine for the adults, and a soft drink for the children.

No pressure to leave the table from the helpful staff. The only observation that I would make is that the atmosphere is better upstairs on the Ground Floor.

This was my first visit to a Strada. I phoned to book, as it was a Saturday evening, and was asked whether I wanted smoking or non-smoking. So far so good, but when we arrived we found the areas weren't segregated and the ventilation was insufficient, so that the smoke from the one or two smokers spoiled the atmosphere.

The pizzas were very good, but the ventilation system is inadequate if they are going to continue to allow smokers. Many restaurants with only one room have already instituted a non-smoking policy, but it looks as if Strada is waiting for the 1st of July before being dragged into the twenty first century.

It's fair value, but not cheap.

I may return one day, but certainly not until after July.

Further to my last I've been back for lunch, and...

An army of babies named Tarquin, Amelie, Jules and Jamie shriek, thump, wail, squeal, whistle and shout with a piercing intensity. Pushchair after oversized puschair pour through the door. Highchair after highchair are cluncked upright. Thump, whail, shriek, whistle, squeal, babble, spit, shout, gurgle. I don't naturally harbour resentment to children, but lunch here is a sheer test of endurance. Baby changing happens in the gents because someone's in the ladies and why wait? If such an experience was comparable to water torture than this would be the Niagra. Wail, shout, scratch, thud, jump, drop. Same in Pizza Express. Same in the Village Deli.

An incubator of the middle class conforming to some awful tele-visual middle class paradigm propogated by Jamie and his crowd.

Fine for dinner, but avoid this bastion of the "trendy mum" at lunch unless you're one of their clan...

The ever pleasant staff possess an amusingly dry sense of wit.

Intensely delicious smells abound.

Great value.

Complimentary filtered water is served here in abundance and is such a good idea.

Strada is indeed making strides.

Strada food is simple, reliable and very tasty. Have been to a few branches in the past, and this being the local have been here a few times now. The staff are attentive and always helpful. It's a shame we couldn't book on a Saturday but other than that, no complaints.

Strada is one of the better chain restaurants. I always have a pleasant experience whichever branch I go to. I have tried Strada Blackheath recently and once again I had a pleasant experience. The food tastes great, large portions, good atmosphere, friendly staff and not expensive. Thumbs up for Strada.
