It's old fashioned and friendly with a really mixed crowd of real people drinking good beer.
On Monday's they only serve roast beef sandwiches, but what roast beef sandwiches!
Shame the patio isn't bigger.

I first visited the Compton 30 years ago, and it is almost the only London pub to which that applies that has not been ruined. It is cosy and friendly, with a gang of regulars (always a good sign). Bitters: Greene King IPA, Abbot and guest beers. Food: excellent sandwiches, baguettes and roasts. I don't agree with the "gastro" description; it's good honest pub grub. Music: NONE! Hurray! why can't more pubs get the message? Bar staff: charming. William the French barman is particularly delightful.

i love this quiet, country pub. Being in north london, there arnt many of this kind, and definatly none of this quality. There beer is amazingly well kept, and the real ale is glorius.
