Having discovered the delights of Yo Sushi in 2005 I am bitterly disappointed by its falling standards this year. I have visited various restaurants a dozen times or so since May and am amazed at how bad things are each time. A recent trip to the Soho location was marred by the fact that it stopped serving food 2 hours earlier than the closing time advertised on the website, not to mention difficulty in getting any food at all as 6 items I requested from the menu were no longer available. After being told that the third item I requested wasn't available I tried asking the educationally subnormal waitress to tell me what WAS, only to be met with a blank stare. Three more requests went by before I gave up and asked for my bill. At least the food I had there was very good. Fulham Broadway's restaurant, meanwhile, has served up pretty substandard food for the last two months compered to last year, providing me in July with 3 dirty glasses in a row for drinking water, putting dirty plates back in the clean pile beside the chopsticks, not cleaning table surfaces properly after previous customers (more than once I have asked for a cloth to do it myself) and defending itself against the VERY poor tuna sashimi (normally a favourite) by saying there was "a global shortage of the good stuff". So I have to pay the same price for the bad stuff, eating off plates they can't wash properly? Vegetable curry also comes in a different quantity depending on the week - sometimes in a nice deep bowl full of food, sometimes in a much smaller portion on a shallow plate. Again, my offer to pay less accordingly for the smaller item is met with looks of confusion, as are my complaints at the slow and VERY FORGETFUL service which has become the norm there on quiet Tuesday evenings. The worst offender, however, is airside at Gatwick airport's north terminal. In early June my tuna sashimi was grey, foul smelling and had gone off. The Polish girl who served it to me couldn't speak a word of English and shrugged her shoulders when I put the dish under her nose. I should have thrown it at her. My limited Polish was enough to tell her it was appalling although she didn't see the problem and, cretin that she was, said the fish was fine. The manager there at least had the sense to apologise and not charge me for the miso soup which was all I had eaten. The same bad fish was served to me 3 weeks later and at that point I just walked off as I had consumed nothing and my requests to speak to the manager fell on deaf ears. Whatever Yo Sushi was when it began, it has changed beyond all recognition now and I agree that the selection on the belts is nothing like as good as in times gone by. I won't be back. Oh, and the reason the octopus nigri was so tough, I was cheerfully told by the manager at Fulham, is because it's delivered frozen.

I must agree with other reviewers, I have been a long-time and regular visitor of Yo! Sushi, and I'm not nearly as impressed as I used to be. The novelty of the conveyor belt has been replaced by disappoinment at the weak selection on it at busy times; to add to this the service is slow when you order. The sushi is disappointing and not always as fresh as it could be...clearly the less popular items go around for quite some time, while more popular ones are rarely there. Waiting for half an hour for some nigiri to go by is rather annoying in a sushi restaurant.

For a quick and convenient meal with added novelty, yes - but for a good sushi experience, I wouldn't really recommend it.

With so many Japanese restaurants now opening up around London and the rival "itsu" chain, Yo!Sushi just seems to have been left behind. The food has little or no taste, it seems strangely watery and the variety of dishes on the conveyor belt is simply not good enough. Frankly, it's no treat for your tummy and our local by the Fulham Broadway cinema was deserted long ago by us. We have a pre-film nosh at the Pizza Express instead. Bizarre thing is that Yo!Sushi seem oblivious to their slipping standards compared to the competition.

This Yo sushi is in a very appropriate place(next to the cinema), as you can eat some almost painfully healthy Japanese food and afterwards feel a lot less guilty about indulging on a tub of ben and jerrys while watching the latest chick flick.

Yo sushi on a whole does slightly better hot dishes than cold dishes. This is partly because the hot dishes such as Seafood miso ramen are served "hot". The cold dishes however are verging on warm depending on how long they have glided along the conveyor belt! Sashimi(in my opinion) has to be ice cold which sometimes is not the case. Tuna sashimi also has to have that dark, deep red flesh that highlights the quality of the fish, NOT a pale almost salmon pink colour (and yes i double checked it was tuna before everyone thinks it was actually salmon sashimi!)I also found the octopus nigri very chewy which is a shame because when cooked to perfection, it has a beautiful tenderness. The salmon Teriyaki was a fantastic dish that has an explosion of sweet and salty flavours complimented by moist and opaque flesh.I also enjoyes the spicy tuna handroll which is excellent value for money however slightly hard to eat( you'll see). All in all i do enjoy visiting this clean, manicured chain as most of the time you know what to expect. .

Went yesterday to a Yo Sushi for the first time and was very impressed. The service was excellent and the food absolutely fantastic - from the signature salmon roll to the delicious kashimi chicken. Considering we ate a lot (about 8 dishes between the two of us) the price of just over twenty pounds wasn't too bad. Now I can't wait to go back to try out all of the other stuff that whizzed past us on the belt...

I have had a great 'craving' for sushi recently and YO!Sushi seemed the obvious choice. All the times I have frequented the chains different locations, it has been a great experience; with a variety of dishes served and genuinely good value for money. Making my way to the Fulham Broadway branch one Wednesday night, I was quite disappointed at the reaction we recieved on entering the eaterie. It was an hour to closing time and the staff could not have been more unfriendly in their attempt to shoo us out the door. What could have been a great 'quick bite to eat' turned into a rushed, unenjoyable eating escapade. I will however be returning again at some point but hope not to experience that kind of customer service again!

ILLUSION SHATTERED

Did you know nearly everytbing at Yo Sushi is out of a freezer packet?

I have eaten at this Fulham branch a couple of times before, it's not as good as other Yo! Sushi's as the lighting is bright and you really do feel a bit rushed.

But last night I had a bad experience here.

The staff were fine - though extremely rushed as the restaurant was heaving. However.... The food was another matter. We watched as the chef's tripped over their orders attempting to keep up with the high turn over of diners. Food was being spilt everywhere.. with no time to mop up.. the fryers were surrounded by crumbs, oil and bits of plastic bag..pre cooked rice was being served out of huge big plastic square boxes left on one of the food counters - right under our nose.. freezer packs of dumplings, meat skewers, chicken were ripped from their bags and thrown into friers.. Noodles were packet ones. I hadn't realised how much of their food was processed, frozen or packet food. In fact the fish seemed to be the only thing that wasn't delivered prepacked in a freezer bag. In the past I ate here happily, blissfully unaware of how preprepared and plastic it all is. But seeing a chef tipping my order straight from a freezer bag into a fryer puts you off your meal somewhat. An illusion shattered.

I did warn the staff who explained it was because they were busy. But bringing the packets into the main food prep area is just plain foolish.

So despite the staff doing their best to make amends - over which they were generous. I'm afraid I'm going to avoid YO Sushi in the future and source a more authentic place.

My 9 and 12 year old sons are regulars at the Harvey Nichols branch of this popular conveyor belt eatery. We were pleasantly surprised that a new branch had opened in the new Fulham Broadway Centre. This type of eating is fun for adults and children alike however it comes at a price so be warned £50 goes without very much effort. Still my sons gave the Fulham branch the thunbs up announcing that the cooked options were warm and that they had more faith in seeing the food being actually cooked which isnt the case (according to them)over at Knightsbridge.Glad that I can now avoid the hastle of travelling to Knightsbridge to pander to my children's need for conveyor belt service
