Yo! Sushi (Trocadero)

Having just returned from living in Japan, I was eagerly awaiting my next sushi hit.
I had originally planned to go to Toku, in the Japan Centre, but on arriving was met by a large queue.
So instead I decided to go to the nearby ** Sushi. Although after eating at ** Sushi I then understood why the queue had been so long at Toku.
I never saw any fresh sushi made the whole time I was there, as a result the fish was dry and stale tasting. The sushi rice was heavy and tastless to boot.
After sampling two plates I was so disheartened I thought I would try some noodles. I ordered Tempura Udon - surely they couldn't go wrong with that?
My fears were soon confirmed though. The udon were overcooked and soggy, certainly no bite, or al dente quality to these noodles. The soup was tasteless and the tempura, which should have been light, was greasy and heavy.
I'm sure if I had never tasted the genuiune article I would have happy feasted at ** Sushi, but having tasted so much better, I left disappointed.
What struck me even more was the number of people eating there who were perhaps oblivious to the lack of quality in the food they were eating.
Later, and wanting to see if the long queue confirmed the superiority, I ate at Toku. Absolutely brilliant! Fresh slices of sashimi and excellent sushi, and without the feeling that you were being ripped off.
My advice-don't bother with ** Sushi's expensive and poor imitation of Japanese food. Get yourself to Toku and sample the real thing!

Returned to this restaurant for the umpteenth time over the weekend and was not diappointed. Mizo as good as ever, the fish fresh and my weekly fix of Chicken Teriyaki was perfect. Alhtough I always seem to spend a fortune, this is fast food at its very best.

This by far is the worst of the Yo! Sushi restaurants in London. The smell in the restaurant alone is nauseating and I had a hard time eating there...so much so that I only ordered rice and left. It's usually empty even though its neighoring competition in Chinatown is packed...that's usually a bad sign. The staff however are very friendly and nice here.

The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food was somewhat mediocre and the same dishes went round on the conveyor belt the whole time we was there. I wouldn't count seeing 'behind the scenes' that good a thing. Nevertheless, we were in a hurry so it was very convenient place to pop into.
