I visited this restaurant over the weekend and was really disappointed. The service was pleasant, if a little scatty, the food took ages to arrive and wasn't anything to wow us. The burger was really bad quality, and badly cooked - so dry it nearly crumbled and cooked until charred. My fish was tasteless and badly seasoned. The mash was ok though! Not impressed I'm afraid. A bit hectic and seemed very disorganised. Won't be going back. It's a shame cos it's such a good location, but they haven't won over me as a regular.

Unfortunately, we've not yet eaten at the *****: we asked to book a table outside (by the bar), which was confirmed to us over the phone, but when we turned up we found all the outside tables full, and the barman then told us that he thought we were going to call back later to confirm, which hadn't been suggested at all at the time.

I'm not sure whether he'd failed to note the booking, failed to hold a table, or perhaps the tables can't be booked and he hadn't realised; either way, he decided to bluff his way out of it rather than apologise.

It's a nice venue in an excellent location, but we can't comment on the food, and it seems the organisation and customer service still has a long way to go before it can be depended on for a good night out.

My girlfriend and I ate at the Bar last night (8 June). It was a perfect London evening and rather warm. The secenery and interior were very soothing. While the sea bass was nothing great it was cooked nicely and served with some of the best mash I had had in a long time. The menu is short but varied. I am not sure why its called a grill and the steaks do not seem a highlight? The wine list is brief but adequate but again for a grill I expect more emohasis on some meaty reds. Our service was clumsy but attentive. I wouldn't rush back to this place, and would be wary of the service when busy, we went on a pretty slow night. All in all I would take friends there for a great view of the park (make sure you get the window table) and may go again myself if I am stuck for alternatives.

Lovely for cocktails though sometimes the service of these can be slow. It is a chill out place so this is ok. Have not eaten so the food rating refers to cocktails.

Since moving to the area i have been dying to try this restaurant even after reading the reviews.....i went with low expectations which was just as well!

the evening got off to a bad start as they had written our reservation down for Saturday night rather than Sunday (why did they not call us when we didnt turn up...they had our number!), it looked as though they werent going to fit us in but found us a table. I was slightly narked when the waitress asked my boyfriend what he would like to drink and then walked off so he had to call her back and order mine. My disappointment is solely with the service as the food was actually quite impressive (some odd combinations, but they seem to work). We were rushed through our meal, our starters being served just after the bread had arrived and my boyfriend was served his steak but no veg/chips until we asked where they were. The staff were very polite but not very attentive and with zero atmosphere we had no reason to hang about and were in an out in just over an hour!

We wont be going back in a hurry!

After a disappointing first visit just after the Bar and Grill had opened, we decided to give it another go, my wife and I ordered the Fish Cakes with Caesar salad and my son had the Cheese Burger. In ordering, the staff could not have been more helpful, suggesting a wine and generally being very friendly. When the food arrived, the Fish “cakes” were deep fried balls of potato with very little Salmon and the Salad looked (and tasted) like it had been stored in the fridge for several days. The Berger was much better with a fresh Side Salad, shame the chips were only warm and not hot. My son decided he liked the idea of French Toast and Fresh Fruit for dessert, so my wife and I ordered coffee and some Chocolate Fudge Cake. The coffee arrived in seconds but 20 mins later there was no sign of the desserts, when I enquired and said we had hoped to have the dessert and coffee together, the barman’s response was “I have no idea how long dessert will be but I will check”, no apology, so I cancelled the Chocolate Fudge Cake (you would have thought I had committed a terrible injustice given the response). The French Toast was duly brought to the table (another fine example of deep fried food!), along with the bill. What a shame; the bar and the location are fantastic, it should be packed, but there was only one other table occupied and this was the week before Christmas so were clearly we are not the only people disappointed by the poor quality food and staff with attitude. With some luck it will get bought by someone who is passionate about food, served by attentive staff, who are proud of what they do.
