This weekend I had possibly the nicest curry I have had in a curry house at this venue. Third time I have been there (and the first time in about 4 years) and have nothing but praise for it.

Early evening on a Saturday, not too busy, relaxed, pleasant decor and the tables are not cramped, the staff very friendly and helpful. They spiced up a chicken saag for me to madras level and it hit the spot exactly - succulent chicken and not too dry as most places make saags. My partner was equally happy with her curry.

Will be back for sure.

Two visits- first was truly excellent food- the menu was more adventurous than the usual brick lane fare- I had a dish which used a bengal fruit(I forget the name), best i have had in this area.

Second time was a crashing disappointment. Just not very tasty. Also servings are small, especially rice. Can get very noisy also.

Worth a try as most restaurants in Brick lane are rubbish.

Will rate on both visits

I went to Bengal Village last Saturday with my mates and partner and we not disapointed. The service is great and the atmosphere enjoyable with a group of friends. The Evening Standard restaurant reviewer Charles Campion has given this place the thumbs up and so do I.

The restaurant is quite small so you may have to book in advance.

9 of my friends and i visited the Bengal Village on a very busy Friday night, i must say everything about the place was outstanding. When i got to bricklane every restaurant had someone outside the door trying to force customers in(which i thinnk is very cheap and desperate). The only restaurant did not force us was the Bengal Village which attracted us instantly.

The manner of all the staff was excellent towards us, they looked very smart, very efficient and most of all very friendly. Their menu was cheaper than any other restaurant in bricklane that i have been to.

Their food was absolutely fantastic as i cannot say anything negative about the place, all ten dishes were beautifully cooked, the drinks were very cheap and the service was exceptional.

As i work in the city i shall be recomending Bengal Village to all the city boys and girls. " Bengal Village is without a doubt the best eating eating place in bricklane" 10/10

We ate here on Sunday at lunch time after being lured in by the reviews in the window. We were not disappointed. The service was non offensive, the interior was minimal and the food was without a doubt the best Indian I have had, and I have had my share. Non greasy, very tasty.

This is my favourite Indian restaurant in London. The interior is modern, and not overbearing - nor are the staff. The food is great, not dripping in oil which I have gotten used to in most Indian restaurants; they have a varied menu with good vegetarian options. Food and drinks are reasonable priced. Bengal Village is always full with a queue outside; and my Indian fiance and friends love it as much as I do.

Dinner there last night before heading out in the area. The place had a long and varied menu, and we received good recommendations and good service from the wait staff. My friend had the Lamb Methi, a mild and very aromatic herby curry - very nice. I had the standard butter chicken, also very good. BYO for drinks, meal was nice and cheap. Recommended.
