just been to the Westbourne Grove store for dinner and was a little worried after i had read some reviews on this website. May i say first of all that the service was on par to any rerstaurant i visit in my home town in New York City - and the food was well above average. I have not had more authentic noodles sine i have been doing business here. Well done Neds keep up the good work. There is no recession going on here thatr's for sure - the place was rocking.

I have been ordering at Neds for 4 years and twice when I had the manager of the westbourne grove store online was he so unbelievably rude and out of line that I was in shock. The employees are usually ok but the Manager has twice been so awful where I called that I wonder how he can still be in place there - The first time was when I asked a different mini box that the one usually proposed on the menu (which I always do with the team and have done for 4 years) and he refused and said that it was fine for me not to call or order anymore. I waited a whole year and when I passed by saw that the usual team was back so I started ordering again and it's been as professional as usual until tonight when I ordered and then called back to add something else to my order and at first he refused because he had already issued the ticket (honestly, have you ever heard of a restaurant who refuses to add items on a order under the pretext that they have already printed the ticket???) Eventually, after insisting, he added the items but refused to apply the discount I was entitled to and miscalculated the total. When I called him on that too, he said he was just going to cancel the order altogether and I could call later or if I did not want to call at all, it was fine!!! I have never had such an awful service ever... So much for more than 4 years of loyalty with the team members I like! I am still in shock, disbelief at the total rudeness, unprofessionalism, incompetence and inexistant customer service and I am petitioning for the Manager to be fired by the owner! He is a disgrace to this place and does not make justice to the shops on Westbourne Grove... There are a lot of people looking for jobs these days, and those who can't do theirs properly or don't care about their job should leave the space for those who want to work, do a good job and treat their customers as they deserve...

Wow!!! cant believe that last reviewer. I go to Basildon's Neds Noodle Bar twice a week. The food is some of the best in Basildon the service is a delight and its speedy. My Special fried rice is just divine and the calamari such a find. Anyone who doesn't like this place needs to keep at Mcdonalds because they have no idea what good food is.

Ned's noodle bar is total rubbish! Here's why:
1. Very small quantity. Their smaller box which is same size as a woman's fist is their regular potion for almost £4. You would get twice the amount from other take aways for the same price.
2. Poor quality. I had the special fried rice, when I first opened the box the smell of hot old grease immediately hit my face . When I looked inside, the blackened rice puzzled me, I've never seen fried rice cooked so badly. The rice was covered in something black yet did not taste like soya sauce, it tasted surprisingly bland. Very stingy on the other ingredients, a few prawns and very thinly sliced pork were thrown in the box, apart from the prawn the rest had an old look about them, perhap because they were all blackened.
3. Long wait and rude service. Apparently I was served by the owner of the noodle bar. Now when I made the comment on how small the regular portion was he immediately thrust up his arm and raised his voice and said :"Mcdonalds is over there!". I was taken aback by how rude and forceful his manner was. I later said I would do just that next time I pass Basildon, he shouted in front of everyone that he looked forward to not serving me next time!
Now that was indeed terrible customer service, and I would make effort to tell people about you and your food, thank you very much!

Just tried Ned's FOOLdles at County Hall SE1, as they fooled me in 2 spending out on the worst food I've ever tasted. Over priced, under sized and half the ingredients were missing. Spare ribs I had, well I was looking 4 spare meat on their bite sized bones. The grease it was cooked in could be re-boxed and sent to my local cafe 2 fry their eggs and bacon in. Thank god I had a bar of chocolate in my desk at work 2 fill the gap as I would have wasted away by the end of the day if Ned's FOOldes was all I had.

TERRIBLE FOOD, WORSE CUSTOMER SERVICE.
we ordered a delivery from Neds for the first time tonight and were really looking forward to our dinner. The food arrived quickly and my husband tucked into his prawn and chicken noodles, which were slighly greasy but nice (although they forgot to include the sweet chilli sauce which we had ordered, and paid for)
When I tried my Tom Kha soup, I can only describe the taste and consistency as dishwater. It was really disgusting, like coloured water. We are not normally people to complain and we were starving, but we both tasted it and agreed that it was so bad that it was inedible, so we called Neds and told them and asked whether they could send a replacement (and our chilli sauce) We also invited them to take the soup back themselves to try it.
The lady on the telephone was very unhelpful and eventually agreed to send something else. THat was over an hour ago. As I write this, I am eating cereal for dinner. When we called back five minuites ago, we were told that they were too busy to send anything (they hadn't bothered to call to tell us that so we had sat waiting for my food to arrive)They were completely unappologetic and just said that it was "bad luck".
It's very sad that in the current economic climate, with good restaurants going out of business, places like this are still busy.
