I am surprised by these under par reviews of Prezzo! And no, I am not being influenced or paid to talk this place up! lol. I was in London fot the first time last year and I stayed with my cousin and her husband. I'm not sure if they'd been to Prezzo before, but they agreed with me that it was lovely. We had not booked but we were still given a table pretty quickly, upstairs by a window, with the views over the night lights on the thames it was a great atmosphere! the waiters were smart and polite and really helpful. the starter we ordered to share (italian bread with olives) was delish and deffo freshly made. I had a pizza, my cousin had pasta and i can't remember what her husband had, but they were all hot and tasty, and good sized portions too. the wine was also nice and went well with the food. also they had the usual italian black pepper but also some curry oil for pizza in a fancy bottle which i tried, and it made the pizza even more yummy! The prices are quite reasonable for the location and everything, and id go there again anytime im in london. Only thing I thought was it was a bit too warm upstairs, but it was a warm day in august! Probably that's a good thing in winter lol

Is this Mexican? I thought it was supposed to be Italian a la Pizza Express, but rather less substantial even!

Bring back Chimichanga's, even with the scorched Chicken and so on!!!

I agree entirely with the previous review. Restaurant quiet even after the Marathon when other places nearby were choked with people. The best word I can use to describe the place is chaotic. We had to wait for a table when there was obviously a lot of free space. We asked to sit inside but ended up outside. Although the atmosphere was marred by huge numbers of screaming children who were allowed to run around seemingly without any supervision, the setting is very nice and the panoramic views could be very pleasant. We were brought three meals in error before we finally got our food. When it arrived, the pasta and risotto were nice but not amazing. My pizza Fiorentina had a very stale egg splattered on top and a hard, over-cooked base. Not too expensive - about £35 for three meals and a drink each - but not really a relaxing experience. They couldn't even get us the correct bill! As has already been said in these reviews, go to one of the many other restaurants nearby.

This is now an italian restaurant...my friends & i decided to try it after seeing it had switched cusines (under the same owner apparently), but were as disappointed as we were when we tried the mexican food. Although it has the potential to be a great restaurant - bright and spacious with nice decor and good river views - as much as we hoped to like it, the food really wasn't good! Although the servings were large, the pastas and pizzas were topped with the same strange tasting tomato sauce (from a can?) and the ceasar salad had stale crutons and was drenched in a too-creamy/oily dressing. Also, the staff were polite but not friendly at all - no wonder the restaurant was almost empty on a beautuful saturday afternoon when lots of people were dining out...We should've gone to zizi's instead (they never disppoint) & only a minute's walk away!

dull, dull, dull.

service with a smile, whatever!!!

the staff were obviously not happy to be there, polite but not happy.

the food was rubbish. i had the mexican paella, well, it tasted exactly the same as the bags of flavoured rice you add water to and boil for ten minutes. it was appaling.

the drinks menu was short, very minimal selection, the same for deserts menu. it was bad. i wont be going back again.

We came up on the river ferry looking for a pub or bar at Canary Wharf on the river as it was a boiling hot evening. All restaurants had a negative attitude to just serving drinks. Except Chimichanga. We were welcomed to their lovely riverside terrace, and drinks supplied happily. Then we ordered a large cocktail and some great mixed olives and some olive and tomato bread which was excellent. The service was excellent and everyone around us seemed to be greatly enjoying their food. Top marks to a place which is willing to put customer service before profit, and thereby gaining new customers! The fact that my sandal dropped into the Thames while I was getting in the return ferry shows that there was plenty of alcohol in their 'special' cocktail.

I have been more than 3 times, and love the Mexican dishes served. I highly recommend the Baby Back Ribs, tastefully marinated, the meat just cooked enough to fall off from the bone. There is a good mix in the menu, and presentation is fine. I do strongly recommend for a try, and experience it at least once yourself.

This is one of those places that you only go to once. A cafe posing as a restaurant and a cook posing as a chef. Tired, boring, tasteless food served without any interest or flair. This is just stuff slopped on plates and called Mexican. Staff are nice enough people, if a little vague about what's happening. Take some extra time to prepare your own Mexican from the supermarket and you'll be a country mile ahead on taste compared to Chimichanga and you'll have a good deal extra to spend on your drinks.

I will never recommend this place to anyone. My husband and I went there (Docklands) recently to celebrate my birthday. We are vegetarians and order the veggie burrito and enchilada. A dry burnt wooden log was served on a pile of indifferent rice, how can they call this Tex Mex! One could hardly see or taste the guacamole, the sour cream, the refried bean, all of which are essential ingredients for any tex mex. Priced at £8 + it was incredibly bad. Never never again.

Went to this restaurant for my 20th Birthday and it was a mixture of feelings amongst my guests. My brother-in-law got brought out and when he complained after he tasted it saying it was dry they refused to take it off the bill. When one waiter came to bring out the food he did not call it as it was written on the menu and so stormed off in a huff (with OUR food) and sent someone else to hand it out. The view is awesome and it has a dreamy atmosphere which I absolutely loved. All in all, I had a great time. Just be careful for the seafood dish - it has pork in it! I know, silly isn't it?
