Do not eat here, it's a tourist ripoff. £13 for a tiny from-frozen burger and a pathetic bowl of fries, served with some pinkish sauce that was almost certainly left over from the 70s. Chips were cold and uncooked in the middle. Soup was the highlight as it was merely mediocre.

went to the Trafalger to celebrate my husbands birthday with family and friends on Saturday 15. I have to say I really enjoyed the experience and will definitely return again. The food was excellent, portions a little on the small side, but hey what the heck it was amazing. Beautifully presented, imaginative and it kick started my taste buds. Chef should be complimented on his food, no messing about, no corners cut, it was real food. It was slightly expensive (ish) but it was worth it. The restaurant was private, lots of room between tables, our waitress was very good and we had a brill night.
Just two negative things to say 1. the menu on the website really should be updated. 2. it is time to give the loos a refurbish. Happy to give a quote if needed. Please try this place it was really good.

We just had lunch at the Trafalgar restaurant and everything about it was superb from the welcome, the attentiveness and friendliness of our waitress to the absolutely wonderful meal. The steaks were just the best we had all eaten and the whole thing was a memorable experience so I just cannot understand some of the reviews that have been written on some of the websites. We will definitley chose to eat there again on our rare visits to London and will certainly recommend to all of our friends!

Great views across the river and great selection of beers including selection from Sharps and Adnams. Very friendly staff will let you taste any of their products. Good selection of belgium lagers especially Estaminet - love it ! I will definitely be back again!!!

My husband and I dined at the Trafalgar Tavern restaurant last night and found the food, service and setting to be of a high standard and very enjoyable. Unlike previous reviews there were no children running around, people dressed for the beach and my husband's steak main course came with a choice of chips or potatoes, grilled mushrooms and tomatoes.
We ordered three courses and a bottle of wine and the total was less than £80, which I think is very reasonable. My main course of sea bream was perfectly cooked and both main means were of a good size. There was a decent choice of puddings and we opted for the lemon posset and chocolate-orange mousse, neither disappointed.
I have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant, however as a caveat, Greenwich becomes very busy and touristy at the weekend. For the best experience I advise dining here on a mid-week evening.

My husband and I had booked a table for our wedding anniversary. Unfortunately, this is one of the worst eating experiences we've had in a long time.
We arrived early and thought that we'd have a glass of wine and take in the view of the Thames outside. The bar board only gave a very limited choice of white wines but said to ask the bar staff for a fuller list. Upon asking, they replied that there were no other wines.
We had our starters - hot smoked trout and smoked chicken salad, which were OK. We both ordered the lamb cannon dish - one medium rare and the other medium. When our mains turned up, the food was barely warm and the lamb was overcooked - not at all pink in the middle! We didn't stay for a third course, but two courses and wine still cost us £80.
We also feel that, for a restaurant charging top prices, there should be some sort of dress code. Shabby shorts and T-shirts should be banned and young children shouldn't be allowed to run around the tables and disturb the other diners while they are eating.
Definitely overpriced for poorly cooked food.

I wish I'd read these reviews before going to the Trafalgar for lunch last Saturday. My partner and I wanted a quick pub lunch but, as the bar was too busy and it was raining, we thought we'd try out the restaurant. I can tell you straight away that I wasn't planning on paying £85 for two starters, two mains and two beers - especially when the food was not all that.
The starters were fine, I had whitebait which was crisp, hot and tasty. There was a *lot* though, too much for a starter. My boyriend had the foie gras which, again, was lovely but you can't really get that wrong. Again, not a bad portion and, when the mains arrived, we realised why.
We paid £17 - yes you heard right - £17 for a steak which came ON ITS OWN, no accompaniments, sitting alone in the middle of a massive plate. You'd think, at that price, it would be the best steak you'd ever eaten..sadly not so. Decidedly mediocre.
My canon of lamb, on the other hand, was quite tasty - it was flavoursome, the herb crust was tasty (if totally ineffective as a crust as was more of a pile) and there was a nice deep 'jus'. However the 'pomme puree' was a hard disk of raw potato....or just very hard potato, it was hard to tell...with a slightly grey pallor. I asked for it to be replaced, which it was, and it was no better and by that time the lamb was cold.
So, basically, hugely overpriced - to the point of embarrassment - average-at-best food, cold surroundings, horrible plasticy tables - why not a table cloth...? I will be complaining to the restaurant directly.
