We went to Nozomi today when we passed by Knightsbridge. Surprisingly we were the only customers there. The answer comes after reading our experience.
Foodwise, it's really not up to the standard of fine dining and there are plenty of Japanese places that do much better food than Nozomi. The rice in the maki roll was too soft and the beef in hotpot was far too salty for my liking. Side dishes were too greasy. The best thing they offer is sashimi which no cooking is required. Each cup of green tea costs £3.50...unfortunately they are not Japanese green tea, so tasteless that I can make a better cup of green tea at home using teabags from supermaket! The most interesting thing we have found was indian music was played throughout our meal.

i love sushi, so my boyfriend booked a table at Nozomi. He told me he had heard that it is one of the best ones nowdays.
i have to say that when we went there i was not impressed so much by the design, it was nice, minimalistic but nothing special. however, the speedy service from the polite and helpfull waitress made my day!
The best part was when i tasted the dishes. I went speechless!! all were fresh and delicious!! i really loved the Nozomi roll (maki)!! The deserts also were yummy!
Our flavour satisfaction was completed by the fantastic cocktails!!! Watermelon bum bum will remain in history!
Finally i am one of them how believe that Nozomi is the BEST one!!

Nozomi is certainly one of a kind. On arrival we had to wait a short while before being seated, but i suspect this was as a result of how busy the place was.
Apart from that my guest and I all have a very good night. Both the food and cocktails were at a very hight standard. The atmosphere in the place is like no other, absolutely fantastic.
Nozomi has it all, great food, people and atmosphere. I would recommend to anyone who enjoys quality food and a good night out.

In response to the last reviewer: I have been a regular customer for few years and I can certainly say that the food is first class and the service may not be 100% at all time, but at least the staff are friendly and Nozomi offers a lovely atmosphere and more than everything I don't fancy to be described as an idiot!!!!!

I agree with all the negative reviews about the service and the food. The sushi, sashimi, the starters and the main dishes were all bland, low quality and mediocre at best. Service was pathetic, dishes were mixed up, incomplete, it took ages for the mains to arrive and when they did they were cold and lacked flavour. There were drinks that showed up on our bill which we did not order. It was impossible to have a conversation, it's not a nightclub, and even if it was it would be a really sad one full of idiots. Pathetic place for people who know zero about good food. Never ever going back.

Had dinner here on Friday night, although it was hard to find flaws in the food or the atmosphere, the service was so terrible, I was ALMOST willing to leave the miso black cod, yellowtail sashmi and grilled scallops untouched. From the begining, firstly, they take about 5 minutes to answer the phone. Secondly, they could not find my reservation, despite having called me four hours earlier to confirm. Thirdly, we had to request for the menus and to order drinks. Fourthly, 50% of our sushi platter was incorrect. Fourthly, when we ordered another dish on the menu and when it hadn't come within 30 minutes, checked where it was, they came back with 2 of the dish. Fifth, they didn't bring 2 things we ordered. Sixth, we ordered chocolate fondant during the main meal as it takes 20 minutes to come - never came. Seventh, we waited 40 minutes for the bill.. I'm sure there would have been an eighth, ninth, and tenth, but frankly I was so fed up that we left in a flurry, ensured we gave a lot of evil looks to the waiters, and told the manager he needs to double his staff!

I went to Nozomi last friday with a group of 4 and had a very enjoyable evening. The staff where very helpful and pleasant, some of which were very amusing. The music is second to none and the crowd was great.
Nozomi was very busy when we went., and they made one mistake but nothing severe, understandable, these things happen time to time. The food was fantastic, great sushi and the wagu beef. After dinner we decided to have a few drinks before going to the club. We discovered that the bar as well as the restaurant had really started to pick up, great atmosphere and the cocktails are very exceptional.
I would defiantly recommend Nozomi, its the ideal place to be before going out. Great crowd,food and atmosphere.

Probably one of the most exquisite night outs I have had in a very long time. Nozomi has an electric buzz which when combined with its finest of menus, executed to the finest degrees of perfection, creates a unique dining experience suitable for those with the highest expectations and standards. I would highly recommend Nozomi and am delighted to be able to return the favour of the experience I enjoyed with this review.

At the door I was greeted by the most hostile of doorman, who was really quite rude. I was going in for drinks at the bar ,one of my friends had reservations inside and yet he was adamant not to let me in as I was not dressed appropriately.
The man in the hat at the door however could see our distress and was doing his best to help us when he saw we did have a reservation he was let us in. On entering I found a man dressed in jeans and a T shirt and did question how smart that was if they did have a dress code then that would obviously not fit it.
I am really quite shocked at the hoohaa at the door by the doorman and have travleed a great deal and never come across somone who was so arrogant. Are we really changing with the times or is it just a matter of keeping up appearances.
The atmosphere was v stiff and not at all welcoming.

Having viewed the menu online, I was really looking forward to my evening out. Sadly, front of house was rather less than inviting. We were plonked at our table rather curtly. Maybe the fact that we were not in the age group of the other diners apart from our son who is 31, meant that we were not viewed as potentially good customers. The lighting was so dark that I literally could not read the menu. Our rather kind waiter turned the lights up so that I could actually chose my food but it was soon turned down. The only benefit I could see of the lighting was that no one could see any imperfections. The music was so loud we could not hear each other speak. My son asked if it could be turned down but was ignored. Sadly, the food was remarkable which made it even more disappointing. To eat delicious food is why I go to a restaurant but I do expect to have an overall pleasant experience. Not to damage my hearing and be unable to read the menu. We were not asked if we had enjoyed our food or our evening. They also did not give it away which I suppose is to be expected in that area. Having said that we do not mind paying a lot for good food but the whole experience was not a joyous one. We will not be returning.
