We used to enjoy meals here, in the top floor restaurant, ever since it opened: lovely river views, run by a well-trained, friendly Australian team, with good sized portions of reasonable quality food. No longer.

For some reason (a lot of SW restaurant openings that have kept us busy trying new places) we hadn't been back since last summer. On our visit two days ago, the welcome was missing, the untrained East European waitresses barely spoke English, the beefburgers could only be served well-done (sure sign of poor quality) and our guest, who had the fishcake "special", has had the runs ever since!

The excellent battered fish and chips are no longer on the menu - we now suspect, for good reason. So much for Young's gastropub hype - they don't seem to be trying very hard at all, anymore. Shame, since the river view is great.

Dreadful! We made the mistake of eating in the restaurant upstairs. Waited 45min for starters which was a pitiful £8 mussel dish, waited a further 20min for our empty starter dishes to be cleared and waited a further 30min for our mains. However, the food was tasty and cooked well but was on the small portion side for a Gastro. After our 2hour meal was cleared from the table we asked for the bill which required encrypting as the tills did not have the ‘correct options’ to itemise our bill – a hand written bill would have been quite adequate and helpful. The Boathouse is in a nice location by the Thames in Putney so I’d only go back for summer drinks at the pub. I will certainly not be eating there again considering the selection of other restaurants London SW has to offer.

It is a great place for a Sunday lunch, especially in the summer, thanks to their beautiful glass balcony on the first floow, which overlooks the river...HOWEVER the food is average. It is worth a visit, but do not expect amazing flavours!

I live very close by and recently went and had a Sunday lunch. Previously we had eaten bar snacks such as chips and bread, olives etc., which were all good. I had a caesar as the bar menu is not overly imaginative. It was not great. My boyfriend had a grilled sandwich of sorts which was also average. Service is good, as is atmosphere.

The cumberland sausages and mash are really nice here. The food here is really good. I have been about 3 times now and have never been disappointed.

The staff are very friendly and helpful!!
