The Tapestry Tapas Bar and Restaurant

The blanket ten out of tens that the majority of 'reviewers' are showing here are a bit over the top, but the Tapestry is a pretty good restaurant/gastropub. We ate from the tapas menu (although there is an extensive non-tapas specials board), and on the whole what we were served was far superior to what is often passed off as tapas. Desserts were good too, anywhere that serves rhubarb crumble (the best dessert in the world. Fact.) gets a big thumbs up from me. Service was efficient and friendly. I'll be returning.

We have visited the Tapestry regularly over the last few years and each time we have had a really lovely meal - last Sunday we arrived at 3.00pm, without a booking, but we had a great meal - my partner had paella, I had fishcakes, which were absolutely delicious. The food is always very fresh and tasty. The staff are very friendly and helpful and we are looking forward to going back tomorrow for their Brazilian evening with Brazilian food and samba! We'd strongly recommend it.

I booked the set tapas menu for 12. Everyone has said it was a fun evening but how awful the food was. we had bread & olives followed by garlic bread, followed by humous with bread eventually we had tortilla which was a big plate of potatoe and some nachos. After 2 hours we asked if we could have some proper food and got small plates of salami, shrimps, liver etc by which time everyone had eaten too many carbohydrates and weren't really hungry. The bill was £28.00 per head. we want to eat healthy food thus we won't be going back.

We love this place! The food is always excellent and the service welcoming and friendly. The mix of a la carte and tapas is perfect for a group and the small bar at the front makes it a pleasure to have a quiet drink if you arrive early. The menu changes regularly enough to encourage repeat visits and we've watched it go from strength to strength since it opened.

Although a bit out of the way it is is well worth a visit. Have been there a few times and the menu is very interesting with some apppetising combinations. Better than many inner LOndon restaurants that I have been to. Service is very friendly and efficient - unless very busy!
Out of peak hours it is particularly worth a visit for tapas - no rushing you along, friendly and relaxed.
