Angolo a Sud

I Thing is the best italian small deli in the City. The food is great especially the Lasagna. I do not thing you can find anything near as good as Angolo a sud.

Averageon price is realy good too .I went last week to try just opposite the focaccia of Spianata, honestly nothing to compare. When you walk in there it look like beeing in Italy. Over all Really nice!!!!!!.

The best coffee in the City by far. Tasty, authentic daily pasta dishes and fantastic cannolo - though with all the well dressed Italian eye-candy also eating here, who needs dessert?!

They've just re-opened after a refit which has resulted in a couple more tables inside just in time for winter.

Overpriced and bad service, these guys are clearly amateurs - They cook their Pastas and Lasagna but the quality of the food is random, it probably depends on the mood of the cook.

The coffee is very good.

Strong points:

overall the food is quite good and the staff is friendly. The chef is Italian, the standard of cooking has been good and consistent throughout this winter in which I have been eating there at least once a week. Personally this is important, as when i feel like having that special lasagna, I mean that, and not s.thing different or that tastes different.

Highlights: Espresso etc...lasagne, polpette and sicilean cannoli - all home made.

Downfalls:

the waiting time, queuing to be served, can be off-putting at times.

Bad mark on the manager, sort of "I am the boss here" attitude towards customers and staff alike. Humbleness goes a long way, he should not forget that. As I have been a waiter in the past, I disapprove of any sort of manifestation of tyranny. Not needed.

Really impressive!!! It seems to be in Italy in the piccolo deli....People there are so friendly...The best lasagna and coffe in the city ever!!!

When they started few years ago it was a very good place for genuine Italian food. Unfortunately now they are too popular and too busy and the quality of food is very poor.

The price of Italian goods that they sell is ridicously high.

The servis is not very good. The owner is the first sad Napolitan that I ever met - he never smiles and it is not friendly at all.

The barman and the Sardinian cook are very cool.

I agree with other reviewers that this really does do yummy Italian meals for very reasonable prices (given that we are in central London). The atmosphere and decor are great too. The only bad point is that there is only one indoor table which is always taken by the time I get there. This is fine on a hot day, as it's lovely to sit 'al fresco'. However when it's cool, it's pretty miserable and they didn't have any gas for the outdoor heaters that last two cold days that I went. All in all though, by far my favourite lunch spot in the this part of the city.
