One of the worst italian restaurants i have ever been, it was a joke how the restaurant was being managed, a real shame as i would never be coming back again, the food was ordinary, the service was appalling and the atmosphere was very plain not for the money they are charging.....

As a bistro-style resaurant, Da Franco at 27 Streatham High Road SW16 1DS, is a great place to eat and relax. They have a couple of tables outside for smokers and the restaurant is open-fronted in summer and glass-fronted/cosy in ter. Great Italian menu - wonderful home-made pizzas - and a good wine list.
Very reasonable prices - and no stinging gratuities on the bill!
I recommend you give it a try.

I live a few doors from Da Franco's Italian Restaurant. It is the best place in Streatham for a chilled-out eating experience. The food is great - home made Italian - at a price to suit all pockets. His pizzas are made on the premises and are to die for! The wine list is is good and reasonable - the beer long and cold!
Try it!

Hiya, i ate here valentines day 2007.
My boyfriend and i came down from yorkshire to London for a valentines break.
I was very happy with the restaurant, as it was an off the cuff choice.
It was probably the best decision i have made in a long time.
The food was beautiful, the service was spot on!!
Ill never forget it.
If any of my friends travel to London, i will reccomend eating here.

I always enjoy this local eatery. The staff remember you and are friendly, and although they're slighty dipsy sometimes the food always arrives well presented and tasting great

I have been here 5 times and always found the restaurant charming and the staff attentive although a bit dizzy. This time I went it was like an episode of Fawlty Towers. The waiter (who looked like Geppetto from Pinnocchio) did his best manuel impression and we all had a good laugh. We enjoyed the mis-spelled menu especially the "scampi in 6 proportions". However it was when our main course came that it ceased to be funny. I ordered the Lasagne Verdi. It did not mention on the menu that this was a veggie lasagne but I thought that I didn't want to complain so tucked in. It was soft and mushy like baby food and the pasta was so overcooked it was inedible. My friend had the paella and the prawns were so soft and mushy she could not get them out of the shell. My husband had the tagliatelle and it was lovely. We complained about our food and the chef came over. He agreed that my lasagne was overcooked (well why serve it to me then?) but refused to admit anything was wrong with the paella. In fact he said "you obviously don't know what paella should taste like". Well my friend works for a food magazine and has often travelled to spain not to mention many superior italian restaurants and to treat your customers like that is appalling. We asked for the bill asap as the table behind us were also complaining about their food being overcooked. The chef's response? "you are only saying that because they complained" pointing at us. The couple asked for their bill asap and we all agreed that Gordon Ramsey needs to step in to this disaster to sort it out.

I went here last year for Valentines Day with my boyfriend and we have been back again and again since then. Tonight, we are going for Valentines Day again, and I can't think of anywhere I would rather spend it. This place does not look amazing, but the food is DELICIOUS and the staff are so friendly. It is a really unpretentious, cosy, family place with fantastic chefs and great value for money. You shoudl all give it a go - actually, don't, or it will get too crowded!

Da Franco's is a lovely restaurant, with gorgeous fresh italian food as well as friendly service and very reasonable prices. The bruchetta is fantastic and their freshly made pasta is delicious! Best restaurant in streatham easily!
