Something Charlton has always been lacking and that is a Thai Restaurant so as you can imagine I was overjoyed to see that my local Tapas restaurant that only opened a few days a week was a getting a refurb and also serving Thai food and open every day except Monday's

The place is a fantastic find for those loving either cuisine. The owners are lovely welcoming people, the service good; the food is yummy and fantastic value for money. Good selection of beers and a very good selection of wine to accompany either. The atmosphere is cosy and inviting, so much so that I visit at least once a week!

I would recommend this place to anyone. We even held my friends 40th Birthday party last year here. They gave us a choice of a set menus and made it a very special evening for my friend.

If you're a local and you haven't been then you're missing out. If you read this and find yourself in the area check it out.

This lovely restaurant was recomended by a friend of mine, big "Charlton FC" fan..I took my two girls to see the "Spice Girls" the other week and called him to say we would love to take himself and his missus out before the concert..

Coming from Stevenage, we're not exactly spoilt with the culinary delights you londoner's enjoy, people of simply taste we are !!!..But what a relaxing, friendly and "Cant Do Enough For Ya" place to eat..My mate explained that its only just been refurbished, looks great..The Lady owner helped the girls order the spanish food,no main coarse, so they choose 5 starter dishes, meat balls in a tomatoe and garlic sauce and prawns fav with them, and so much food for so little money !!!!..I had the "Thai Green Curry", really delicious.. My mate had a steak dish and his wife, fish.. To be honest, we all shared a little off each others and all food was so full of flavour..

Kids enjoyed the "Fried Bannana" with ice cream and "Sticky Rice" and mango..Unfortunately us adults were stuffed !!!!..All in all a really great experience..Thai and Spanish food is not something I would have thought to be a particularly easy restaurant to run, but the owners and staff of "Cattleya at Chu & Cho" certainly pull it off !!!!

Total cost of all food for 5, wine, couple of beers and minerals UNDER £75.00, no idea how its such good value..

No idea when I'll be able to get back there, hopefully soon, but i thought i'd let you lucky Londoners know about it..

SO GO CHECK IT OUT !!!!!!!!!!

I found this haven in Meridian magazine. Unusual, a smart cafe/restaurant with a very relaxed atmosphere, perfect for after work. Haven't tried the tapas but, as a regular far east traveller I can say the Thai food is the best home-cooked Thai style this side of Bangkok and much better than the west-end. I've been 5 times now with friends and business clients and had 5 out of 5 excellent experiences. Very friendly courteous staff and amazing value for money. Try the home-made curries and the fish. Definately worth crossing the river for.

We revisited this place to try out the thai food (we had the Spanish tapas last time). The spanish was good, but we thought the thai would be even better as it is owned and run by thai people.

Wrong. The thai beef salad was drowned in lime juice, and the beef was well-cooked tough strips of frying steak, not sirloin as advertised. One portion of aromatic spare ribs were still cold in the middle. The food arrived erratically, meaning some people were left without their food for quite some time while the rest of the table had theirs. The weeping tiger was just a steak with rice - hardly any sauce. Drinks were forgotten about, and plates were left on tables. Such a disappointment, especially as we'd had such a good time on a previous visit.

We came here as a party of nine last saturday.

The decor is bright and the restaurant is well lit. The staff (all in t-shirts with "I love Charlton" emblazoned across them - nice!) are very polite and friendly.

The menu is split in two - one half for the more traditional Spanish tapas, the other half of the menu with Thai food. A strange mix; we stuck to the Spanish dishes which were very good. Pickled spicy mussels and garlic prawns were a highlight, as was the aubergine dish.

Food for 9 people (there was a lot of it) plus 5 bottles of wine, and service came to £170 each which was fantastic value.

I will definitely be returning to try the thai food - the Spanish is definitely worth it.

This is my local tapas, nestled among the odd takeaway and fish and chip shop of Charlton, and it stands out as the best by far. On the several occasions I have been there the food has always been great, and it's so inexpensive that you can gorge yourself on a good choice of dishes for next to nothing. Plus, it has only just (Sept 07) been fully refurbished inside, and yet somehow the prices remain the same! The service is very polite indeed, and the range of dishes impressive. You have to try the mango with sweet rice for dessert....you will be surprised and delighted. Worth a trip, especially as it's so close to Charlton station it's accessible from further afield.

This is a great place for a chilled out & relaxed spanish tapas meal. The food is great and the staff are always very friendly. It gets kinda busy from about 1pm to 3pm on Saturdays when Charlton Athletic FC are playing at home so you'll need to book well in advance. The price of the food is extremely good and compared to other Tapas restaurants in London, I consider this the best I've had and the most options on the menu. Love it.
