Sirtaki Taverna

I went to Sirtaki last night for a friends Hen night and have to say that we all had a FANTASTIC time! This is NOT the place to go if you want deep conversations and it has a lively atmosphere and later on, loud music... which is just what we wanted!
The service was great, the waiters and bar staff were very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble and they had constant smiles on their faces and wanted to ensure that we all had a good time.
The food.. although not of the highest quality, was plentiful and prompt. We pre-ordered which cut down on waiting times. I had the Meze which was lovely and all of my friends enjoyed their meals, 1 had to send her steak back to be cooked a little more, but this request was greated with a 'no problem' from the waiter.
The entertainment was brilliant, as we were on a hen night we had ordered a stripper for the Hen, he was apparently one that the restaurant uses regularly and, for a stripper, was extremely good looking!
This was followed by a belly dancer and some greek dancing and plate smashing, after which the DJ took over, playing cheesy classics and the latest chart stuff to get everybody up dancing- which they were, the dance floor was packed!
We all had a great time and i would recommend Sirtaki for Hen nights, birthdays and girly nights out. I'll definately be going back.

I went for my birthday. One of the best nights out I've ever had. The food was absolutely gorgeous, they even made me a free birthday chocolate fudge cake! The entertainment was brilliant, and the atmosphere was great. Soooooo much better than the Abbey Taverna. The staff were extremely friendly. My friends and I were all up on the dance floor and doing the conga. If you want a great night out - book now!

Atmosphere very good. Everything else rather average. I've been to better Greek restaurants...

I was looking forward to a night out with work mates. What a dissappointment. I was not expecting 5star food, but I was expecting to be able to eat it. This was the worst meal I have ever had. The place was packed out, very uncomfortable, the music was so loud conversation was impossible, and the "service" was diabolical. I understand that this is a party place and not known for good food, but it was a complete RIPOFF!!!!! BE WARNED.

Ok - where do I start? Having the fortunate opportunity of having attended civil, polite and non-rowdy christmas parties over the last week, I was truly blessed with this budget restaurant offering entertainment and food for a supposed reasonable price. It fit in right with everybodies budget, and so we plumped with it. What a horrid mistake!
I'll try to be completely down the middle here.
For the starters, I was looking forward to my pre-booked tzatziki. It was just awful. A basic elementary meze - and they ballsed it up. It was so thick, it made my palate dry.
For my main meal - another exciting name, which I haven't tasted since George's Cafe in Palmers Green - was a Kleftiko. Normally beautifully done, potatoes and rice accompany, which is ever so perfect. However, this Kleftiko had more fat on it than 2 jags Prescott. I had to leave it. Shocking stuff. I was starving - I waited a whole day damn it!
I had to leave desert as I now realised the old adage YPFWYG just wasn't true in this restaurant. Charging extortionate amounts for crap food - not good.
You may well say - who cares? It's all about entertainment and company - yeah - if you can hear your friends speak over the loud chavvy pop music. Oh - and where do I begin with this? It was so tacky it was embarassing. I now realise that even Joe Bloggs bar down the road was better. Of course - girls aplenty were dancing like tacky chavvy sluts. Not that I'm denying the girls the opportunity of making a fun night out of what was abysmal service; I'm a clubber myself, but this was just shocking and tacky by a pre-devised boring MC who asks girls to publicly dance in front of everyone - with which they willingly oblige to much satisfaction. I felt sick. I had to pinch myself I was in Oakwood N14 for a minute and not in deep rooted Essex or up 'Norf'.
The only great thing was seeing the girls dressed up so nicely, looking so beautiful, and remaining in their company. Of course - conversation was restricted to outside. So I cannot recommend this place for food or entertainment. And if you do have a girlfriend - be prepared for some other guy preparing a note to the waiter to pass it on.
Oh - employees, you really need to get a different job if you hate it so much. The look on your faces was fit for McDonalds. How on earth you charge even £40 a head is just unbelievable. Looking forwrad to the Roux brothers now - for a real YPFWYG meal.

A complete rip-off. A party of 9 (one a 13 year old and one a three year old child), charged £25 per head for the most inferior 'meze' I have ever had. Two bottles of HOUSE wine, a 75cl bottle of JD and various soft drinks, a choice of 3 seriously unimaginative desserts (one of which was a supermarket bought - and not even Mr Kipling - mince pie with cream) - we were charged £450!!!! Entertainment was nothing special too! I would strongly discourage everyone from patronising this restaurant.

If you want good greek food this is not the place. Very Poor
If you want Greek Service. this is not the place.
If You want Greek Music this is definitely the place.
The Live musicians playing from Thursday till sunday are fantastic. They specialise in Ponbtian music and play the pontian Lyra as well as the Bouziki etc.
They are fantastic, if the restaurant did not have these musicians it would have closed down a long time ago.
People go for the music not the food.

I can't believe I am making the effort to leave a terrible review on a restaurant but Sirtaki I hope you read this..............We had terrible Christmas doo with them. I have been a regular customer over the past 12 years for weddings and parties, and it was alway a great place. They have had tons of buisness from my family and friends. To my disgust our Christmas party was terrible from the moment we got there as they cramed everyone in... unfit in my opinion for safety regulations!!!! (Worth a a mention to the authorities if god help us there was a fire). We couldn't get out from our table and the service was appauling as I had to pass all the plates down to my friends!!!....and we paid a service charge!!!It was just greed, from the new owner, to have cramed us all in like that.

I am writing to give you some insight about the service I received in this restaurant.
I have recently been to this restaurant for a Christmas dinner with my colleagues from work in December this year (2006).
I found the restaurant overcrowded to an absolute limit. It was uncomfortable to eat at the tables as there was no space to move and everyone at the table was seated too close the person next to them.
The music in the restaurant was extremely loud. I could barely engage in any conversation with my colleagues because I could not hear what they were saying to me and I could barely hear myself talk.
I asked the staff to turn the music down to a more comfortable level but my request was greeted with a condescending reply that this was a party restaurant and it is people’s conversation that is causing the noise and not the music.
On another occasion one of my colleagues asked for the music to be turned down when it was purposefully turned up and the reply in that instance was that it can only be turned down a little but it will get much louder later on.
The quality of food in the restaurant was below any acceptable level. Most of the people I spoke to during the evening commented on how poor the quality of the food was. I cannot see how it justified the £36 it cost for a taramasalata with pitta bread, vegetable moussaka and profiteroles.
We were asked to order our meal choices in advance but on the night we found that some of the items were not provided. My colleague went without a dessert she ordered.
I left before the dessert (for which I paid), as I could no longer endure the treatment I was receiving in this establishment.
I was seated opposite a couple of tables that appeared to be another party. Some members of that party were extremely loud and evidently drunk, but there was little done on the part of the restaurant’s staff to contain their behaviour and ensure that everyone was having equally good time. At one point I actually felt unsafe seating in such close proximity to these people.
On one occasion, when one of that party was singing out loud to a song, the music was turned up to an unbearable level to accommodate him. No one seemed to care what effect that may be having on the rest of the customers.
I complained verbally to the staff and was told that I was the first person ever to complain to them - I find this incredible. I expressed my deepest disappointment about the service and the food, but was told that that was my opinion. I found this treatment of a customer appalling.
