Thai Square (Putney Bridge)

i have been to thai square many times, as i think it is lovely, as a whole the food, the atmosphere, and the service combined are wonderfull. I have been for my birthday along with my mothers brithdays and just other occasions, its a great restaurant perfect for a large party of people or even two diners alone.

The Thai Square at Putney Bridge used to serve good fresh Thai food but it is no longer what it was.

Duck curry, an item found on most Thai restaurant menus, was vile. The duck was dried out strips, the famous coconut sauce tasteless and the rest of the ingredients, well, four cherry tomatoes and pineapple, are no more authentically Thai than I am. I could continue about the food - what used to be marvellous soft-shell crab

has shrunk in size and increased in price - but it might go on forever.

The reviews indicate that most diners seem to like it but do they really know anything about traditional Thai cuisine ? They are seduced by the river view and the polite service from young Thai students waitresses - both appreciated but does one not go to a

restaurant first and foremost for the cooking? I do and I have also been to Thai on many occasions and know what I am talking about as a writer on eastern cuisines.

Drinks at this restaurant are also expensive - how about £4.50 a single shot of gin plus a further £1 for two oz tonic? No house wine, no half bottles of wine makes a nice mark-up for them.

Went for dinner last night at the Thai Square Putney Bridge and had an awesome evening. From the moment you approach the incredible building you feel like you are going t enjy yur evening. The decor is fantastic, the service great without being over the top and the food was delicious. Good value for money too at £85 for 2 starters, 2 sides, 2 mains, a bottle of wine, 2 beers and a liquer coffee. Will definetly be going their again.

I had such a good time for my sister's party last night. The waiter is so kind and nice like I can feel the real thai hospitality. The food was so good, the view was so nice. Everything is perfect. I definitely will go back for the next celebration.

went here last night for a first date the food was great the atmosphere was also good we had a table at the back which was a bit disappointing because i asked for a window table overlooking the river , but we ordered i drink and the waitress came along and saif hold on for 5 mins and we have your table by the river !!!!!!!! i didn't even mention it but they remebered great customer service ...

There is a bar downstairs that seemed pretty full, we had 2 bottles of wine and 3 courses each and the bill was 85 quid not bad i thought . Wouuld def go back again. but rememebr to ask for a window table!!!!!!

I went to Thai Square Putney Bridge for having a dinner last week. The restaurant was a bit busy but still had a very nice atmosphere.Moreover i tried green prawn curry,it was excellent although very spicy.

I STRONGLY RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT !!!

I went there yesterday .Everything so cool,we have some drink first and then go up to restaurant --it was wonderful,reasonable quality food good service friendly staff, i will go back there.
