Salud Restaurant

We choose salud for our wedding reception in December 2006. We could not have been happier with everything, the staff were friendly and everything had a relaxed happy atmosphere from start to finish. The tables were laid out impressively with everything being taken care of with regards to decorations for the tables.The food was great we still have guest calling us now to comment on the quality of the food,really it was beyond our expectations. If we had to arrange the day again salud would be the first place we would book and we could not reccomend it enough. It is still our favourite place for a special meal and now it is a place with special memories.Thanks to all the great staff for making our day perfect.

My wife and I visited Salud Restaurant this Saturday for an anniversary meal and it was excellent, the restaurant itself was very clean and modern. We had a drink at the bar before being seated to our table they were not pushy and were quite happy for us to sit there for as long as we liked - which is very different from some other restaurants where they want the turnaround extremely quickly. I had the chicken in wine for starters which was tender while still being cooked fully (there is nothing i hate more than undercooked chicken) - my wife had the prawns in red sauce(not sure of the spanish names)which was tasty.

For main i had the chicken with ham and cheese which was nice and my wife had the dover sole in lemon sauce which was delightful top marks!

This restaurant turned out to be very pleasant with a great atmosphere very lively. i would definitely go to Salud again there menu has quite a few tempting dishes.

The service was also of a high standard

We visited on Saturday evening for some eagerly awaited tapas and authentic paella. The mussels in cream sauce were bland and much too creamy but the melon and parma ham was fairly good (how do you mess up parma ham, anyway). We also had calamari which was decently tender and tasty but found the crab claws to be incredibly disappointing. They were clearly defrosted and 'nuked', as we say in America. For a main, we had a mixed paella which lacked flavor. It had way too much chicken and far too little seafood. Overall, we were disappointed as we'd heard that Salud's food is fantastic. We may visit again to give it another try but we're not eager to make a reservation just yet. The staff was very friendly so no complaints there.
