I have been to this restaurant several times now and so far I have enjoyed the food and the service received. This little gem is nicely hidden in Crouch End and with a name like ‘Money Nuts’, you can’t go wrong.
I ordered the Nachos as my starters, which was delicious, as I have never tasted anything like it, although £5.50 was a little pricey. As my main, I ordered the Rack of Ribs at £14.95, which didn’t come with any chips. I had to order this as a side order at £2.50.
Overall, the food and service was second to none, however I did feel it was a little pricey for a restaurant out of town. I would recommend to anyone as this restaurant has the potential of a good evening out.

I agree with other reviewers who also experienced poor service. My ribeye steak, ordered medium rare, came well done, Sent it back and they left my wife to eat alone, who then had to watch me eat alone. We were not even offered an apology let alone a drink etc - the waitress was inept and said that she has no discretion to appease unhappy customers. The quality of meat is poor - the steak was tasteless. The restaurant does not accept Amex, which from my experience means that they seek to cut costs eveywhere else - most importantly, in the kitchen. Won't be going back.

We were left waiting for a table for 15 minutes which wouldn't have been an issue until we got to the back of the restaurant and there were plenty of vacant tables!
The burgers we ordered for lunch were fantastic, however the sevice was slow, unfriendly and they forgot to bring out any side orders. We did get an additional beer brought to the table that we didn't order but did get charged for!
The tables are very very close together which meant that we could hear everything that was going on at the children-filled table beside us and even had a couple of falling forks and chairs heading our way for good measure!
All in all, good food but the service and ambience would not encourage me to go again!

Was not impressed with the service, we waited almost an hour for the food. When my meal came the size of the steak I had ordered was the size of a small beefburger and for £11.95 that was not a good look. Sorry but Monkey Nuts gets a 1 out of 5

My partner and I were in England and staying in the lovely Crouch End whilst in London. In New Zealand were are used to fresh food and vegetables and friendly staff and found Monkey Nuts to be exactly that. Was a great experience and if ever back in Crouch End will call in again for lunch or dinner. Two very happy Kiwis

Went to Monkey Nuts last weekend, and was really disappointed. We were in the back section, at a table for two which was crammed in next to all the other tables. Every time anyone walked behind me, my chair was bashed and my coat was knocked on the floor 3 times. Laughably my husband even had to get up to let another couple sit down, it was that cramped!
The food was fine, nothing too exciting, but we couldn't wait to get out of there. Not at all relaxing, and just felt that it was all about getting as many people in as possible and getting them out again asap.

i thought the food was terrible, terrible. The staff were friendly but they didnt serve quick enough. Not bad but a little dissapointing birthday. My brother thought the restaurant was too load and recieved a bad headache. Unless you dont mind loud dinners, there is the place to go! The chips are very nice though and the rest of my family had a wonderful evening. Its fun, its mad,its....monkeynuts

Being a Crouch End local I really should have tried Monkey Nuts ages ago but somehow never got to it. My perception before going was the the restaurant was quite pricey.
Having been there now I thought the food was reasonably priced. I had a t-bone steak which was perfectly prepared, however I did not particularly rate the quality of the meat. In fact, it wasn't very good at all. maybe it was just my garlic butter (which they served on the meat even though the menu states ALL sauces/sides are served on the side Oh well.
I though the rest of the meal was great and my friend had a burger, which looked mean! He certainly enjoyed it.
Wine wise we went for the £21 bottle of South African white. Being South African I though it was a steep price for the quality of the wine.

Saturday was the third time my wife and I have been here, and we have not been disappointed. It's a fun atmosphere, the service is quick and friendly, and they have everything you'd want to eat at a casual restaurant. Burgers, onion rings, fish finger sandwiches, salads, and some specials. Good drinks list as well.

Great burgers - I had the burger with blue cheese and mushrooms - very tasty. If you like gourmet burgers or american style food then this is the place to go!
