The Real Greek Souvlaki & Bar Putney

We ate at The Real Greek last weekend- I highly recommend to all couples and families. Food is delicious with the perfect amount of everything. I am a geek eater so I was glad to see my food was not drowned in rich sauces. Food is great and service is. Worth a visit definitely.

I ate at this restaruant last week, and probably go there every 2/3 months. I have never had any complaints, i find the food good quality, good value for money & the service is great, it has always been fast we have never had to wait. I will go back again, not sure what all the complaints are about!

Very average Greek style operation with limited mezze menu and actually no meat mezze! Nice interior but very much an average branded Greek restaurant. Havent been back because there is better around.

Not a good restaurant - food is average at best, but the real killer is the service. As others have mentioned, the waiting staff are pleasant enough but there are just too few of them. Be prepared to be left sitting for massive periods of time! When the food finally turns up you'll be underwhelmed.

I thought this place was great, I came here with friends when it first opened last year and enjoyed it then. this time around they seem to have changed the color scheme or is that just me and too much ouzo? Great taramasolota, i could eat buckets of it.

I can't believe this place is still trading. Went there on its opening night -earlier this year I think - and haven't been back since. Thought the food was atrocious and both my husband and I got food poisoning, which is astonishingly bad - you'd think they'd take extra care on their opening night. I don't expect this restaurant to still be there this time next year.

Having been to good Greek restaurants and cafes in Greece, Sydney and Melbourne I was disappointed with this restaurant. The food was very poor for a Greek restaurant and generally below par for a London restaurant. The service was poor and the value very disappointing.

Like many chain restaurants, it was over crowded with poorly trained young waiters who were cheerful enough, but reluctant to take orders, didn’t seem to know anything about the food, wines or beer and didn’t even try to remember who ordered what or attempt to keep any consistency with taking orders and returning to the same table. We gave up trying to order drinks from the waiters and went to the pub as quickly as we could. Needless to say, I crossed out the suggested 12.5% gratuity.

This restaurant is such a wonderful place. Warm and comforting, with friendly, efficient staff and excellent food. We've never had to wait around, for a table or for service, and the food is really great. Always a pleasure to come here for lunch or for dinner, with friends or as a couple.

This was my first visit to a Greek restaurant and I was very disappointed. Although the food was certainly tasty it was vastly over priced for what you got. Also, on visiting the toilets there was no toilet paper in either cubicle (lucky I had tissues in my bag!). I advised one of the waitresses when I came back downstairs. When I then returned to the toilets an hour later there was still not toilet paper so I approached one of the staff again. I was then told 'we don't have any'. This is extremely poor for a restaurant but in terms of service AND hygene. I'm sure they could have spared one of their kitchen hands for 10 minutes to nip up the road and buy some emergency supplies!

I didn't find it as bad as some of these reviewers have. Been there twice, once with my boyfriend and once with a friend and on both occasions found it lively and friendly with good (if not outstanding) food. The decor is unusual and funky and the tall tables with tall chairs to dangle your feet off are fun! The red sofas around the sides are comfy too if you end up on that side of the table! The portions are a bit small, that would be my one criticism, but I didn't find it too pricey at £20 each for a shared veggie meze, bottle of wine and big chocolate cake each. With the friendly, quick service and the buzzy atmosphere, I'd recommend this place overall.
