We ate here about 1 month ago. The food, atmosphere were great and the price was good value. We would recommend this as a great night out if you just want a good feed and service. The staff were lovely.

We eat here a lot and considering Holloway Road has so many Indian restaurants, Bengal Spice really is a cut above. Of note they have a really cheap menu on Mon to Wed which is for eat-in only: £9 for a starter, main course and side dish. That's a lot of food. If you don;t know which Indian to stop at on Holloway Road, the Bengal Spice gets my vote.

Bengal Spice is simply the best Indian resturant in this area, namely, Holloway. (But in my opinion, North London!). The menu is extensive and make sure you leave plenty of time to ponder what you will have. Even someone who eats Indian food as often as i do (and trust me, I have my favourites!) has trouble deciding which dish to have.
The food itself has never let us down. It is always delicious and value for money is superb. Try the Shami Kebab or Tandorri Mix to start and for mains you can't beat their Special Garlic Chicken! As well as all the traditional dishes (korma, rogan, balti etc) they have a delightful specials menu. Also try the Amchoor Chicken which is beutifully cooked with mango powder. If it sounds a bit strange try the Amchoor as a side dish and I can guarentee you will be impressed.
The service is excellent, the staff are friendly and helpful. The service is at a nice pace and even when the restuarant is busy they never make you feel rushed.
But perhaps best of all is there Banquet Night, on a Tuesday and Wednesday night. For the bargain price of £8.95 per head you get a starter, main course, side dish, rice or Nan and a tea or coffee to follow. And you can choose anything from the menu so its an excellent way to sample some of the special dishes at a price that won't break the bank. Wine is a resonably priced tenner a bottle.
I fully recommend this resturant for great food and a great evening out and I will continue to be their number 1 fan!
