This is our local Italian and we visit it once every two months approximately. The food is reasonably priced, the pizzas are very good and the pastas are good. It has changed hands several times over the years, and the last owners are certainly keeping it up to scratch. The head waiter is very sweet and efficient and tries to accomodate any needs you may have. It isn't pretentious or upmarket, it's very confortable and cosy.

Me and the hubby ate here tonight for the first time based on the reviews here. He loved his mixed starter, but mine, the mussels in cream and white wine sauce lacked the cream and white wine! Our mains where better, although the cream sauce with the chicken obviously had all the cream from the sauce in my starter. Apart from that we loved it. The fish was fresh, so next time I will give that a go, as to be fair it was obviously a fish orientated restaurant. The service was excellent and they managed to fit us in in a Fri night without us booking a table. We had a most charming waiter and even though it was busy we never had to wait for anything. The cost was reasonable, £80 for two starters, mains, 1 dessert and drinks including alcohol. We will definately be going back.

I find the previous reviewer absolutely prejudice and pretentious. (review left Wednesday, July 09, 2008) If you notice the rest of the reviewers rated this restaurant very highly.
I dined at Sarracino with my husband (who is Italian) )and two children few weeks ago after our Italian friend recommended it to us and it was amazing food and service.
They have an oven that works on wood (and not the electric one as in many places) for their pizzas and it makes all the difference!!!
We also had a seafood starter that was delicious (and it is not easy to find a place in London where good (fresh!) sea food dishes are offered ).
So as it is explained on this website “in cases of severe dissatisfaction please consider first approaching the restaurant directly so that they may have an opportunity to put things right”

I was found headscratching as I was assured by a trusted friend that this was going to be a good night out.
I tend to eat out alot and thought that I would change tack and try something new. I really regret coming to this restaurant as I thought the whole experience was just awful. Every step of the way I was throughly unimpressed with every aspect. I had a hunch when I sat down to order and ended up paying £6.15 for a glass of wine that tasted absolutely ghastly. The food from start to finish was tasteless, the garlic bread was bland and to top it off the pasta selection was limited and the pizza capriciossa we had was absolutely disgusting. The buffet of meats that we asked to not contain fish came with fish, and made me feel quite ill. No taste whatsoever, the staff were incompetent and we I had to ask for every aspect service throughout the meal. To top it off we were presented with a bill of almost £50.00. with a so called"service charge of £5 quid! oh and the food made both me and my partner ill for most of the night.
One of the most overated food experiences ever. So many good restaurants out there, how this one is operating is a mystery.

One of the best Italian restaurants in London. Good service, excellent menu, good wine list. Should be indicated in the Michelin guide.

We have been going to Saracino's usually once a week for going on nearly 4 years. In all the times we have been, I can say hand on heart we have only had one average meal, not poor, just average. The rest of the time the food (any of it, pizza's, steak, veal, fish and pasta), the service and the wine are superb, especially taking into consideration the price you pay.
You know you are in a real restaurant when you first try their bread and dip into the olive oil, I still remember the first time I did, my wife and looked at each other and smiled and said, we might be on to something here! And we were.
The Irish coffee is like none I have ever had before, it's almost a religous moment (and I don't even normally drink coffee!).
Downsides, as other people have pointed out, very noisy. My hearing isn't very good in loud spaces, however, I would be happy to sit at the table with ear muffs on and just eat, the food gives me that much pleasure. Hope you enjoy it too.

If you want to get away from London without going outside London, this is the place you should go. The atmosphere is like you're in Italy. The food is so amazingly good that when you first try it you start smiling - it really is so enjoyable. The portions are fairly generous though you don't get that impression when it's served. A shotglass of Limoncello is an icing on the cake... Oh, and the service is absolutely wonderful.

This is one of the best restaurants I've eaten in in a long time. Even their buffalo mozerella proved exceedingly tasty - I've returned time and time again, and will continue to do so.

i really love this restaurant considering it is very convinient since i live 10 mins from it.
the food has always been brilliant every time i have been to eat there and would easily beat any other restaurant around west hampstead !!!!
the serivce is good even though they are always busy which would make it harder for them to give quick and pleasing service.

Absolutely the best Italian I've been to. The menu is inventive which is rarely the case with Italian restaurants in Britain. The atmosphere is always lively and the staff are great in an understated and slightly brusque manner. It all just works and the food is delicious. The pizza combinations are excellent on delicious, Italian-sourced dough. Antipasti very original and exciting. Thoroughly recommended.
