Willow Restaurant

Willows used to be my favourite hangout back in '93. I would happily spend my hard-earned money having lunch there every day. The chicken livers were superb, and I have never found another place that makes them as scrumptious. Who would have thought; LIVERS! The skins and the buffalo wings were also divine, and I always felt that my presence there as a guest was appreciated. The floor manager (Mark) always seemed a little arrogant towards his staff, but was still very professional towards his customers. I left the UK in '93, but still dream of those chicken livers...

WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO THE WILLOW???

The first time I visited the Willow, it was AMAZING. The food was scrumptious and the service friendly. However the last two occasions that I have visited the food has been dreadful. The menu NEVER seems to change also.

WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO THE WILLOW?? If the Chef has changed - get a new one or bring the old one back.

Try the Dark Horse on Grove Lane - amazing food and great chilled atmosphere

Fantastic restaurant, definitely the best quality food I have had in Camberwell or the surrounding areas for that matter. Prices are extremely reasonable considering the quality ingredients, time and thought that have obviously gone into these dishes. Have never experienced complaints about the service mentioned below - the owners and staff are friendly and welcoming yet professional. Would recommend for any occasion!

This restaurant is quirky and good for the area. The food is freshly cooked and generally innovative, well presented, tasty, and excellent value for money. Quality has certainly improved since the start of the year when the Chef changed.

Wine list a bit pricy when compared to prices on the menu.

Service can be a bit hit & miss when the owner is not present although from time to time they have employed excellent Spanish & English waiters.

Choose your seat with care though as if you face out the back door all you will see is Estate Agents signs on the building next door ... or the bins!

All that said well worth a punt!

I recently ate at Willow and was very disappointed in the food. The food was tasteless and the vegetables were overcooked. It almost felt like eating "boil in the bag" food that tries to pass off as gastropub food. In Camberwell, you are better off going to the Phoenix pub or heading further to East Dulwich to the Palmerston.

Been here a few times since it changed ownership. The first two times the food was lovely and service good, but went back in summer 2005 and ordered spagetti with prawns. Four unpeeled prawns on dry spagetti for around £9, I was not impressed, and my partner's food wasn't anything to write home about either. Really disappointing, and couldn't work out what had happended to the excellent food we'd had the previous times, a change in chef perhaps?

I never thought there would be such a great restaurant in this area. The place is well presented although the bar area could do with a bit more work to give more lively appearance but the food.... Amazing! They were beautifully presented and very delicious also very original.

The dessert I had is not forgettable, must try the white chocolate cheese cake.

I will certainly go back there again.
