We, a family of five, were looking for some nice Nepali/Indian food on a rainy day in West London, we found a cosy restaurant. We were warmly welcomed and excellently served in Nepalese style. The food was delicious and suitable for kids too. The Gorkhali Lamb and Butter Chicken were unique and superb!

Good job, keep it up…

I had a fantastic experience at this retaurant last night. On a dreary wet evening we dropped in on the off-chance and were lucky to find a spare table. The welcome was warm and service impeccable in this small and stylish Nepalese restaurant.

The serving of crudites to start with is a great idea and the Nepalese signature dishes are divine - their flavours were subtle and varied. Vegetable dishes were fresh and appealing and the naan bread was light and digestible. Ghurka beer as well as Indian brands make an excellent accompaniment to the menu. We didn't try the wine list.

Yes, you can find some of the usual Indian favourites too, but these are all prepared with care and originality.

Portions were just right - not too much - and not too litle.

Tables are quite close together, so bear that in mind if you want a tete-a-tete!

The bill was reasonable bearing in mind that this is not a run-of-the-mill Asian experience. It worked out at about £25.00 ech for more than enough to eat.

Aa an avid Indian foodie, I am a now a real fan of this relatively new addition to the the Kew eating scene.

A charming little restaurant with gracious service and reasonably priced to boot. Only snag is: where's the spice? The curry was pleasantly mild for those of my dining companions who were new to eating Nepalese (or was it just Indian?) cuisine. However, having eaten delicious food prepared by natives of the region in question, the lack of spice made me wonder if perhaps the waiter thought we were American, and thus the Campbells tomato soup was used as the base for my "shehazadi" curry sauce.

keep up the good work nonetheless!

We first tried this restaurant in February and have returned several times since. On each occasion the welcome has been warm and the food outstanding. All of the dishes we have tried (and we're working our way through the menu) are well prepared, flavoursome, taste extremely fresh and best of all are not oily. The takeaways are as good as food served in the restaurant and it's very good value. My only worry now is that it will be become so popular I'll never be able to get a table.

RaRa is one of the best new restaurants in West London. It is streets ahead of the other Indian restaurants in Kew, Chiswick or indeed Richmond. It should not to be confused with the conventional curry house. It is in a completely different league - this place is curry with chic. The owner is very keen for customers to enjoy the experience. The staff are very friendly and eager to please. The ambience is lovely - the crisp linen table cloths, designer lighting and stylish crystal glasses make a good first impression. The loos are modern and spotless too. For the health conscious, a platter of crudities is served as you select your courses. We had a surprisingly good bottle of house white. The starters and main courses were excellent too - beautifully presented and freshly prepared - not at all stodgy or oily. This place is amazingly cheap. I know it will become our regular haunt. It was so good, we even asked for the takeaway menu.

When you walk into RaRa your initial impression is of stylish modern restaurant. You wonder if the food will live upto the decor, but don't worry it does, very tasty. The staff were also exceptionally friendly, maybe because they have recently opened. I liked the upstairs best, but there were also some cosy areas downstairs.

I tried this new restaurant with some friends last week and was very impressed. The interior decor is beautiful, the staff friendly and polite, and the food was really delicious. It was the first time I had eaten nepalese food, and whilst it is not dissimilar to Indian, I found it lighter, less greasy and really flavoursome without being overly hot.

A great newcomer to the Kew area - definitely to be recommended
