Yuzu Restaurant

Food is as you would expect from any average sushi restaurant. Service is terrible, especially for delivery orders. Takes far longer than they tell you and God for bid if they make a mistake with your order don't expect any acknowledgement or service. When this has happened to us the manager refers the problem to the owner and the owner does not care. Obviously the restaurants must be doing well but it seems the owner has forgotten the good local people who have supported this restaurant for many years.....shame!

Yuzu is a great Japanese restaurant and the food is of the highest quality. I would like to comment on what people are saying about slow service - I have been many times and although the service is not 'fast', it is perfectly reasonable for an enjoyable relaxed meal. The food is so fresh they serve it as it becomes ready (i.e. it is difficult to ask for a particular dish for a starter, then a main course) so you are better off enjoying the courses in the order they arrive - this is typically Japanese and not poor service (it even explains this in the menu). The contemporary tuna, the black cod and the duck salad are amazing. This is not fast food but great food. Enjoy!

After waiting twice as long as indicated (1.5h!!), the hot dishes we order arrived cold, some of the sushi we ordered was missing and when we asked for a refund of the food that we had not received the manager we were referred to, told me I was being difficult and that since I could not prove something was missing I would not get a refund.b the sushi we got was v good, but on the whole: NEVER AGAIN!

Never order takeaway from here! We waited 1 1/2 hours for the delivery and then the delivery man couldn't even find our house. Then when we cancelled we were put through to another company to process the refund and were told it would take 2-3 days to get the refund! What a total shambles.

Have been to Yuzu many times - and we go for the food not the service! After the initial frustration of there only being 2 waiting staff on a full (but small) restaurant and each of them taking orders from 2 tables that were seated after we were, our order was taken and we started to relax.

The food was brought reasonably quickly - we ordered quite a few dishes so they were just brought to the table as and when they were ready which was perfect. As always, the food was excellent, especially the mackerel and black cod in miso from the grill, deep fried shrimps and the spinach salad.

Highly recommend the food here, it's the best Japanese we've found.

Food fantastic and reasonable value for money but service is a little slow and snooty. I was also staggered that I got a call on the afternoon of my booking saying that if I didn't call back to reconfirm my booking by 6-30pm that they would give my table away! When I switched my phone back on and called to reconfirm they told me I was late. I have no problems with a a reconfirm policy, but if that's what you do, why not tell people when they book instead of stressing people out and threatening to cancel tables on the night of their booking!

Been to Yuzu last night with my girlfriend for the first time, The food was fantastic, Yellowtail tartare and the seared seabass were mouthwatering. The waiter who served us was great and he knew the food very well. Great meal. My girlfriend starts to trust me on the choice of Restaurants. Thank you Yuzu, We will be back soon.
