It seems this restaurant is now in liquidation..! My friends were to have their wedding reception there in 3 weeks time and have been let down BIG time!

I was a bit concerned to see my wife trembling at the table we had at Out and Out, I thought she was having a fit or worse. No, she was laughing.. Whatever can it be I said, are you OK. Lisa said she was laughing because she had at last found her Shangri La. I found it very very hard to prise her from the table and make her come back to mundane old Victoria. We have booked in again, I had better be careful though, as she says if the other courses are as good she will shake again or more! Anyone want an exploding with delight wife?

Remember those idyllic memories of Jolyons and Corner Cafe/restaurants when we were kids? Where the food seemed to be conjured up by a wizard and the served by waiters and waitresses who you wanted as friends, in a Christmas grotto? And we became adults and the dreams faded away to be replaced by the more sensible Ivy and Quago's and Gordon Ramsay's etc?

Let me whisper a secret in your ear. Out & Out. Go there, relive your happiest chidhood memories and like Peter Pan, never have to grow up again! the best of the best.

I have been to some serious eateries and restaurants around the world and written some firstrate reviews, but even I was taken by suprise by the sheer joy and awesome beauty of this restaurant and the surrounds it stands in. Never mind Grand Canyons and Victoria Falls, and you can keep your Northern Lights. Once the initial shock by me and my party over the breathtaking views were slightly subsiding, we were in danger of cardiac overload from the unbelievable quality of the food and wine. I have been delegated Spokesperson to write this review as the other persons are too dumbstruck with the food, wine and surroundings to do something as mundane as put pen to paper (or is that keyboard to computer?!) and write a review in mere words.

Would we go again? what a silly question! like asking if we like breathing!

I can only fully concur with the penetrative insights below. what a first rate establishment. After reading everyone on here going on and on about this hidden secret. A beautiful location and stunning table outlay and settings. Me and her indoors were already hooked before we had the food.

To be honest, we were knocked out by the quality and competitively priced cuisine. Suprised they can stay open with the cheapness and amount of food given. Everything was deeply brilliant. The wine list was first rate too and we settled for the house wines which rivalled Chateau LaTours and Yquems in their complexity, grandiosity and palative inspiration. When the meal was finished the manager was beaming at our obvious delight in his 'baby' and I did my forks and roll trick which made him roar with laughter!

A great night for a great couple! Ten out of ten!!

A supreme experience.

As soon as me and my husband took our first bites of the incredible food at this venue, our mouths exploded with delight. Luckily we managed to get a table at short notice. Apparently I was almost crying and making a fool of myself out of sheer, sheer joy. and then.. the wine. OMG! Are OUT and OUT trying to stop us ever being happy with another restaurant? We did not speak a word to each other throughout the meal except the occasional whimper of pure pleasure. The decor and waitpersons were wonderful too. The rest of the clientele were obviously superior persons and as we remarked to friends who are booking in a table for the future, it was so fantastic to have superior food, superior surroundings and 'quality' members of the public also eating.

None of the other people in the restaurant could fail to agree with the other reviewers on this site of just HOW MARVELLOUS this place is. I think I will move in!

Unlike the previous 'reviewer' I understand punctuation and hence my review is not so educationally-challenged. My family have been going to Out and Out since the early days, we love it. The food is to die for and the service is great. Not servile or supercillious, or perhaps Mr Small likes waiters to bow and scrape as they are assisting with ones food?

The chips are perfect, the steaks are delicious and nothing is a bind to the delightful and well meaning staff at this lovely place. Some of the finest food in Britain. Perhaps Smallie would prefer a Wendyburger? more his taste perhaps?

We enjoyed the setting and got a table by the window overlooking the pretty gardens. However, the service was poor getting our drinks orders wrong twice and trying to charge us for a Guiness and a red wine we never had, even though only 2 tables were occupied. Also, the food was average at best. We had roast and it was nothing special. Not sure I would return.
