've been to the restaurant on two occasions now and have to say I thoroughly enjoyed it on both occasions.
This is not a central London Michelin star restaurant. It’s a family run Turkish foodery with plenty of atmosphere, great waiting staff and good quality food. The portions are a little too big, but for a family night out its well worth the money.

I have visited 'The Mirage' on numerous occasions and each time i have left more than satisfied. This restaurant is one of my favourites and strongly recommend it to anyone who is sensible enough to listen to me.
If you enjoy steak then this is the restaurant to experience as i have never tasted it better anywhere else. It is cooked to perfection and so tender that there is no need for a steak knife here!!! I would even go as far as to say that i am going to take my Grandad here for the steak as a 87th Birthday treat - and he has false teeth!!
The staff are always welcoming, pleasant and you never feel as though you are being rushed through your choice of courses. The staff are also good at recommending a dish if you are stuck for what to choose.
Although the prices may seem on the expensive side at first you soon realise what you are paying for from the very first bite and im afraid there is no turning back until your plate is clean.
The only downfall for this restaurant is when it is time to leave and you walk out onto the streets of Newbury Park because for a minute there you were lost in another far away place.

Having read the reviews, this promised to be one of those 'finds', sadly it couldn't be further from the truth. We went on a friday night full of expectation only to be rather disappointed and £50 poorer!
The menu can be summed up as turkish/greek holiday menu meets 1970's golf club. Ok the portions are large, but bought in as opposed to fresh. The mixed starter not only consisted of the standard taramasolata, humous & turkish cheese pasty routine, it was accompanied by prawn cocktail, deep-fried salmon goujons and filo wrapped prawns - all from the Brake Bros stock list!
Can't really fault the mains, can't really praise them either. Fairly standard turkish grilled meat selection. Give them their due though, the portions were big, so if you're into quantity rather than quality then you'll be happy.
In terms of decor, it is clear that someone has sold the proprietors on the 'lets make it really modern because that's what everyone else is doing' but then gone down to Homebase in order to furnish it.
However despite theses misgivings the waiting staff were pleasant, friendly and attentive. I suspect that this is a family run the place and could do with an outside influence.
If you like big portions, steak and want a reminder of your anatolian holiday, then this is for you. If you want quality and innovation then I'm afraid you'll need to go elsewhere.

One of my favourite places to eat, my girlfriend and I have been coming to The Mirage for a few years. The owners/staff are really friendly and always make you feel welcome. The food is great, especially the Kleftico, and the portions really make this place great value for money. A great family restaurant, ideal for birthdays and celebrations, especially now that they've made it so much bigger. One to go back to time and again.

Always and wonderful evening, food and service is second to none. Last Christmas we decided to take all the family to the Restaurant for Christmas lunch. It was absolutely wonderful. The service was excellent as usual, food was wonderful and the staff were excellent, despite being rushed off their feet with a full restaurant. I have recommended this restaurant to many friends and they have all agreed - a wonderful place to eat.

A fantastic restuarant. I love the atmosphere, service and most importantly the huge portions of top quality food that they have on offer. The standard of quality here never changes and you can always guarentee an excellent evening for all. The biggest fillet steaks around. Have been going to the place for over 5 years and always look forward to their meal. Highly recomend the Lamb Mirage
