The Kiwi Kitchen in Fulham is my favorite restaurant in London, the food is awesome and the staff are friendly and always greet you with a smile - which is quite unusual in London!!
The food is fresh and interesting and you feel you learn a little about the culture at the same time. It's a shame the restaurant is shaped in the way it is, but at least they don't cram in too many tables like so many smaller restaurants do these days.
We would highly recommend the Sunday brunch menu - just the ticket to start a lazy day with the papers!

Great food but poor service.
They got my wife's order wrong (lamb burger instead of beef) and forgot to serve one of our dishes with kumara chips and one with plain - in spite of this suggestion coming from the waitress!!
There was only our table and one other in when we ordered too so there are no excuses.
I couldn't fault my food though - really fresh burger and plenty of it

THe staff had no clue regarding the wine list; could not answer any questions about the NZ wines. Whenever I asked about a particular red wine , the only answer was "there is a white...". We waited 45 minutes for our appetisers. The food was well presented and flavorful, however the atmosphere was lacking.

Kiwi Kitchen ( fulham)
This new version of the suburbian parent in West Ealing is certainly easier to locate. Friendly staff, terrific cocktails and all NZ wines and beers make it a great stop for Kiwis. The food was great, some ingredients had definately clocked up some airmiles and you wouldn't find them on other menus in London. We just felt it lacked atmosphere, which is not helped by the same crowded house cd being played three times over , plastic laminated menus and paper napkins. All a bit tacky - when you are faced with a £100 bill for two.

food was nice and definitely a change from the usual - no complaints at all but the service was shocking.......seated at 7.50 got our mains at 9.50 - not even the offer of a free round of drinks/money off as a token gesture for wait (in fact an extra round that wasnt ours was presented on the bill)
first cocktail from main menu was nice but the "happy hour" cocktails (different menu) were woeful - we didnt even bother to finish them
we sat in the garden which i am grateful for as the interior is unbelievably shabby for such a recently opened venue

I went to the Kiwi Kitchen last night with a group of kiwi girls for a mid-week catch up. As I hadn't been involved in booking or read any reviews I wasn't quite sure what to expect but was hoping that it wasn't going to be over-priced themed but standard pub fare.
We had a great evening. I'm fussy about my food and was delighted when it was very tasty and beautifully presented with good use of interesting "kiwi" ingredients as garnishes. Our waitress was friendly and very helpful (even when we were battling to divvy up the bill) and made our feijoa-loving friend's night by adding some extra feijoa to her pavlova.
The wine list was not exclusively NZ wine but included a few Sth American, French and Australian wines, probably to give diners a lower cost option because, let's face it, good NZ wine is sold over here at a premium price. We were pleased to see some really nice NZ wine on the list - the 2006 St Clair Sauv Blanc was reasonably priced at (from memory) £17.50, given it usually goes for at least $17 in supermarkets in Marlborough where it's from and upwards of $25 in restaurants. The owner mentioned that she was on the hunt to source a good dessert wine from NZ and I got the impression that they were enthusiastic about the wines they sourced and encouraging the UK market to drink more of it (great for NZ!).
The environment was relaxed and comfortable and suited our plans for the evening perfectly.
The cocktail list is huge with good use of trust y 42 Below manuka honey and feijoa vodka but we were happy on our wines so didn't try any. We have plans to do that another night (they have happy hours!).
Overall a very good evening and we've already talked about going back later in the year. It appears that if there were any real issues at the time the other reviewers came then the management have taken these points on board and turned things around for the better.
Only thing I would say is that we'd love to have the Kitchen closer to the centre of town - feel free to open up in Putney or Clapham!

I went here with my boyfriend at the end of a trip back from Warwick, so we were tired and in need of a decent meal. Well, we certainly had that - it was lovely. Service was good, not officious but there when required. The wine list is almost perfect (does need more NZ wines, but that can come). The food was gorgeous - between us we had the chicken and the lamb, and they could not be faulted. I don't understand what all the grouchy folk are on about - I am not easily pleased in restaurants, and not prone to enduring bad meals, so I do think they are wrong about Baroque - it's a find.
