Decided to drop in whilst driving past. Greeted warmly and politely on arrival. Fabulous food! The crispiest batter and tastiest fish I have ever eaten! Melts in the mouth. Absolutely delightful. Surprisingly the chips were equally as good. The art deco style design has a distinct feel of a Miami diner.
A absolute must for all lovers of fish and chips!

Let me tell you why I will never be returning to Mr Fish. The place was full of smoke when I walked in at 12:30 this Saturday lunchtime. No acknowledgement from the staff that I had just walked in and needed serving. Eventually my order was taken - I decided to have haddock as the cod on display had obviously not been cooked recently. 10 minutes and £6.80 later I found that rather than fish, the batter actually coated some strange slimy white foam masquerading as haddock. The mushy peas were dry, barely warm despite being microwaved. The curry sauce was yellow, also served around body temperature with unidentifiable chunks of something. Oh yes, and such small portions - the peas and curry came in the very smallest polystyrene cups money can buy. OK, the chips were pretty good, crispy and tasty. But apart from that, this place is to be avoided.

This is a fish and chip shop at the front and a restaurant at the back. It is unbelievably good value. The front of shop is always busy. The restaurant at the back is less busy only because nobody knows about it! If you want a healthier meal than battered fish, you have the option to get your fish grilled in the restaurant. Fish comes with either chips or salad. There is a selection of wines. I would like to see a larger selection of vegetables is my only reservation.
