Galleria Restaurant

I was in Galleria yesterday. Overpriced food, rude staff and slow service made eating in this restaurant very unpleasant. I went there because my office had recently moved to somewhere near Galleria and I was happy that there was an Iranian restaurant around. Another time that I went to Galleria was with a large group of my British colleagues and I had to endure a half cold Lubia polo (the lamb was completely cold) and pay a large bill. My Iranian friends and I have decided not to go there anymore.

I took my GIrlfriend on valentines day to This persian restaurant recommended by an iranian friend of mine. The food was so nice, I had Salad Olivieh, and my girlfriend had mirza ghasemi for starters. then we shared their Spicy platter which was a selection of red meat and chicken marinated in a mild spice..
The food was one of the best tastings that i have had in a long time. The service was good and place was all decorated by hanging red hearts which my girlfriend really liked and to top it all when we were leaving they gave a Rose to my grilfriend as a valentine present.
Our total bill came to £53.50 which was really good i thought as we had a bottle of house wine too. So thank you Sami for recommending this place to us. we will def go back very soon.

I went to Galleria at lunch-time on a Monday.
Ordered Kabab Koobideh with Rice (£8.70), and glass of Doogh (£2.20) to drink.
First observation was that this place is over-priced. You can get Koobideh in many of London popular Iranian restauarants for around £5.00-6.00 and a glass of Doogh much nearer £1.00. They even had itemised Onion and Egg Yolk on the menu for £1.00 and 50p respectively. I have never had to pay for these elsewhere and just asked for them if I wanted them.
That aside, the food came... the rice was somewhat over-cooked and resembled the rice you would eat in an average Iranian home, not nice fluffy Basmati rice that most restaurants are capable of serving. The Kabab Koobideh was 3/4 length of most other restaurants and I think it was low in onion.
The restaurant was clean, the service was speady and polite.

On our visit to London, my wife and I had our anniversary at Galleria. Their food was terrific and very unique. The environment had a very cosy feeling with the dimmed lighting and the paintings. I mentioned I prefered the table in quiet area, and we were allocated to one table just as we expected! We were explained to every dishes and the right way to have them, as this was our first time having persian food. The service was very friendly, too. best of all when I mentinoed it was our anniversary, they gave us our glass of wine on the house. All in all, I strongly recommend it.

very, very poor. this was the worse dining experience i have ever had. the staff were rude and the food was even worse. the meat they use no longer tastes fresh, and upon complaining was told "i am cutting it the wrong way". i didnt know whether to laugh or just walk out. this restaurant used to have some of the best persian food in london, with the service and atmosphere always being poor. now we have poor food, service and atmosphere all together. doesnt stand up, or even get close to some of the other iranian restaurants in london right now. do yourself a favour and avoid this place.

I went to Galleria on a Friday night a few weeks ago, with my boyfriend who is of Persian descent. His dad is an amazing cook and can cook delicious Persian food which he adapts wonderfully to my vegetarian requirements - so whenever we visit a Persian Restaurant, the food has a lot to live up to! Quite often I have found Persian restaurants have little choice for vegetarians, and whilst they usually bend over backwards to provide me with something, this is often one of the standard dishes from the menu with the meat taken out and I'm left with what is, essentially, mostly rice! However, I found the meal I had at Galleria delicious. For starters I had a dip-style dish made of aubergines, eggs and garlic served with Iranian bread; which was really tasty. For main, I had a wonderful dish consisting of puy lentils, tomatoes and creamy, soft goats cheese. It was one of the best meals I've had for a long time - and it was very refreshing to find an imaginative vegetarian alternative. If I remember rightly there wasn't a huge number of vegetarian dishes so choice was limited; and my boyfriend remarked that he'd not come across such a dish before so maybe it wasn't completely authentic - but then there may be no such a thing as an authentic vegetarian Persian main course! Regardless, I really enjoyed the whole experience. The service was good and the staff were pleasant; the restaurant was also very tastefully decorated. Will definitely go there again, in fact I plan to eat there with a few friends and family on my birthday in a few weeks.

I visited Galleria last week and was very happy with the whole experience. The service was helpful and very friendly and the food was excellent. The Fesanjoon in particular was delicious, I will definitely be returning.

WOW. been going to Galleria for the past couple of years now, but had a nice suprise last night. they have had a complete refit over the new year, very clean and cosy now. still def the nicest Iranian restaurant in London by far. we always look forward to their Fesenjon and Mirzaghasemi when we go there.

Have been here several times before and really liked it. Although there have been a few things on the whole it was good, authentic and very tasty. Tonight was in stark contrast to that. It seemed that perhaps they did not have a chef as the food had evidently all been cooked and lunchtime and microwaved. I noted that the older couple who I think may be the owners were not present so that may explain it. The rice was not fit to be served as it was all broken up like you would see at the bottom of the pot. The jujeh makhsous kebab was dried up and unappetising. It had definitley been cooked at some time earlier i.e. lunchtime then reheated. Having eaten there several times before I know how it should be served. It is not cheap and I would not eat food in that condition at home, so I felt that I had wasted my money. I would not go back as they served this food in full knowledge that it was not of an acceptable standard.

I went to this restaurant with 3 other friends. Being a native of Iran, I've been to many Iranian restaurants in London and in comparison this was pretty good. The decor here is different to most other restaurants that I normally visit as it was very modern and the ambience was relaxing. Normally, the Iranian restaurants have bohemian décor advertising the traditional sights of Iran. So this place is good if you like the modern look and feel.
As we went early in the evening it wasn't very busy. As you expect the service was very good so I can’t say what the service would be like with a packed restaurant.
The food was well presented and tasty. Overall, I liked this place a lot and would definitely visit again.
