Bangla Kitchen

Myself and two friends were told by a member of staff at Bangla Kitchen that we were to experience a great deal of satisfaction while savouring their Indian food. Unfortunately, we had been misled and suffered from the worst imaginable dining experience ever.
Having eaten in many of the restaurants at Brick Lane, with compliments to follow, this was by far absolutely dreadful!
Our starter had reached the table 30 minutes after placing order. However, that was the least of my concerns at the time. An order was put forth for meat samosas as part of the starter course but we had before us on the table a portion of vegetable samosas. Being in business for cuisine that happens to be the primary or staple food for Indian nutrition, Im sure the Indian chef should have been able to differentiate between meat and vegetable (in fact, it should not be much of a challenge for anybody in their right minds).
The portions of food, as we were told by the very scruffy looking 'gentlemen' at the door, are apparantly very large in comparison to all Indian restaurants at Brick Lane. Unfortunately, this too had proven to be totally deceitful, as portions of Bangla Kitchen would fail to satisfy even a toddler. Furthermore, as the main course was finally delivered to the table, I could practically sense the cold curry without closing in on it. And it was.
Another very exasperating scene had occured during our time at the restaurant. A family of customers had entered Bangla Kitchen and found themselves unhappy or uncomfortable with the atmosphere. Whatever their reasons, they innevatibly left without a fuss. One member of the family had left his cap on the table, obviously totally unaware. The waiter approached the table shortly after they left and collected the cap, which at the time we believed he was 'safe-keeping'. The family returned to the restaurant once again, 5 minutes later, to ask if a cap had been left on the table. To my utter shock and disbelief, that same waiter who took away the cap from the same table replied 'No'. I later challenged the situation by asking whether or not it was he who had taken in the cap. His response was: 'No, no we dont know about any hats!' Maybe not safe, but he had definitely kept the cap.
After our very short span of time in Bangla Kitchen, we decided to take leave. On our way out, the man who had heavily recomended our entrance and their hospitality was standing behind the bar and very cheekily asks, 'how was it my friend, arent you going to leave any compliments, why not?
All in all, I am appauled at their attitude towards their duty and service towards customers (or anybody for that matter). Their lack of concern for others is totally unethical, their food is ridiculous and defies the basic concept of hot indian cuisine, the staff have clearly had little or no training in the field and are incompetant. I very much hope that no person is put under those poor circumstances as it is personally unpleasant and, on equal grounds, embarassing when with company.

Nice restaurant and excellent value whether eating in or take away. Excellent lunchtime takeaway deal, best value for money in the Brick Lane area.
