Spices

Went for a curry on Sat night - service was very slow (perhaps because an Arsenal match had just finished and everyone piled in), but when the food came it was very tasty, you could actually taste the difference between the dishes, which is always a bonus.

This is my favorite restaurant in London. The best curry I have ever eaten. Meals are always cooked to individual tastes.

I had a great time in Spices, the food was amazing, very very delicious. It is all home made and full of great flavours.

It is a BYO, which definitely helped on keeping the price down. Although to be honest it is great value anyway.

In total we spent £18.00 and left very full and content.

I went to Spices last night and had a fantastic time!

The food is amazing, fresh, home made and full of flavours and colours.

I had five courses for ten pounds, which is a bargain (starter, main, rice, nann and a side dish). I had the Lamb Dansak which I would go to say the best I have ever had, the lamb was delicious. My starter of a Shish Kebab was so tasty, and full of so many flavours and came with a great side salad. My Garlic Nann bread was excellent as was my side dish of Sag Aloo. I really cannot fault any of it.

I have been to quite a few curry houses in Angel, but this is by far the best!

It is a BYO.

We have tried several curry houses around London and Spices is definitely the best. The food was really tasty, and the owner / chef / waiter (all the same person!) was passionate about his restaurant, and about making us the best curry we'd ever eat. The restaurant itself is a bit kitsch, but somehow that added to the atmosphere. I'd definitely return.

This place is by far the best curry restaurant that I have been to in London. Each curry is individually prepared to order (so be prepared to wait like at a european restaurant), and is delicious!

Great friendly service and a comfortable atmosphere. I will be returning soon.

Give this place a try, we think you'll like it ;o) We went on the basis of various internet reviews and we weren't disappointed. The prices were very reasonable and they also have a £9.95 deal. They offer all the dishes you usually find but also some special curries, we tried the shatkora, which was lemony and quite sharp but delicious and something different from our usual dopiaza or madras. The meat is very good quality. The manager Ali is very helpful and genuine and will help you choose if you want to broaden your horizons. You can take your own alcohol and the shop opposite has a fantastic selection of chilled beers and wines. We have been back several times since and have always had a great time. Do remember this is not microwaved fast food nonsense! Good, well flavoured food takes time to prepare and cook so do be patient, it's worth the wait.

We expected this to be a run of the mill local restaurant with the usual predictable sauces and were very pleasantly surprised. The Bangladeshi dishes (an unusual departure from the norm to start with) were obviously freshly cooked, with their own individual tastes, and were delicious. We'll definitely be back for more! To add to the pleasure, the prices were no higher than any other local Indian restaurant.
