iOs bar & restaurant

I recently went ios bar southgate when i was shocked to see the head waiter/doorman kypros had left.This is unbelivable,although the service was top class the food was exsqusite and the desert was divine the atmostpehere was not the same without kypros...I ordered for starters bites with tzanziki and for main chicken kebab.The group of 12 had an excellent time although kypro was not there was to mix our drinks making us the best of blends with vodka and what not you need to bring kypros back he mad the atmosphere he had the best selection in music he could make a drink that you will never forget and made an unbelivable friendly atmosphere...bring back kyp

After reading all the excellent reviews of the restaurant on here, I decided to finally try iOs (only up the road from me) with my boyfriend.

When we arrived we were seated, and began looking at the drinks menus. Initally excited but the large selection of cocktails and beers, I tried to order a Caiparinia and my boyfriend his favourite Greek beer. However, we were both very disappointed when we were told that my drink could not be made as they had no limes, and that they didn't have the beer he wanted in stock.

Not off to a great start. However my mood was lifted when they changed their minds and decided that actually a Caiparinia I could have. We were then handed food menus and began to look through. The choice was extensive. We ordered some Tzatsiki and pitta bread to start, along with one of the platters which included feta, olives and grilled red peppers. Both were excellent, particularly the feta cheese which is some of the best I've ever had.

For mains, we ordered a Mousakka and a chicken kebab. Again both excellent, particularly the chicken which was very tender. Excellent quality, and must be tried by all. We did not have any desert because we were completely stuffed after the starter and the main course. The portions are a great size.

Because we were unable to move for a little while we ordered some champagne, however, unfortunately the house champagne is not the nicest, so I would not recommend it.

The food at the restaurant was excellent, but later on in the evening around 9-10pm the place became more busy as many people came in for a few drinks etc. A large group of teenagers arrived, dressed inappropriately for a restaurant/bar and were very noisy, which spoiled the atmosphere slightly. Also, the dodgy music videos were not my favourite.

Service was good until the restaurant became slightly busier at which point it took over five minutes to attract attention to get our bill.

Overall, a yummy meal, so hats off the chef, just the atmosphere not quite right.

The food was fantastic, fresh homemade food from homemade burgers to homemade dessert. The sea food platter is so so yummy and the presentation was amazing. For the dessert you must try the apple and mango crumble with ice cream, will send you taste buds wild!!

The staff are friendly and very professional, can't fault the place at all.

Great atmosphere and brillant ambiance..

This restaurant serves OK food from a really long menu - fewer better quality items would have improved it dramatically as a place to go to. I was really happy with the quality of service - not amazingly professional but very friendly. Decor is already damaged and there is a really strange atmospher when random looking people crash on a soft by the kitchen.

Kalisperayshon! I travel some 2hrs to get to Ios but its worth every mile. The place is unique in service, ambience and overall atmosphere. I have been several times in the last year and will continue to go. I have a close and friendly relationship with the owners who were generous enough for me to be responsible for the music on New Years Eve 2005. Ios is an establishment that provides friendly and outstanding service which is supported and complemented by a superb Food & Drinks menu for everyone of all tastes to enjoy, at a value for money price. Of the many times that i have visited Ios it has always been busy which illustrates the popularity of the establishment. An excellent place to go 7 days a week...

Eaten at iOs approximately six times, overall the food is very good at good prices and doesn’t fall into the trappings of being traditionally Greek. The service is good and opening/serving times are attractive.

The décor and cutlery is modern and comfortable, however given the small space it feels unsure as a restaurant, competing with the popular bar. The air can get quite smoky and the music is too loud, this is not helped by dodgy Greek music videos.

The clientele who are predominately Greek/Cypriot seem friendly and cultured. It’s a great place to dine in large groups.

Overall this is a great place to eat in the Southgate area

Hi a large group of us went last night on a Sunday. The place was packed with a fantastic atmoshere.

The place was great with fantastic service from the staff especially Kyps the head waiter there.

The food was good.

We will definitely be going again.

It is hard to describe the the venue it is a bar/restaurant/coffee shop. They have two large screens playing the latest greek music videos with a fantastic personal service.

The atmoshere is more like going to a good mates house rather than a cold bar.
