Definitely the better of the two new entrecote restaurants in London. I've gone back several times now, and have yet to feel disappointed - unlike my single experience at the Baker Street restaurant where the sauce burnt on the heater in front of us, and resembled (and tasted like) burnt butter. Fresh, good ingredients and a formula that works makes this a great addition to London's restaurant scene. And despite the £17 price tag seeming fairly expensive, it's certainly better value for money that the eurostar or plane ticket required to find the same elsewhere!

The set up is nice and similar to the Geneva and Paris L'entrecote de cafe de paris. The sauce is delicious and prices are fair.
a few things things i would like to note: I believe the serving plate with the meat and sauce should be left on the table, with the heating on as they do in Geneva and Paris. The problem is everytime you finish half your plate you have to wait a long time until the waitress gives you attention and kindly decide to serve you the rest of the meal. French fries serving are not very generous and the meat could be a bit warmer. Also last time i was there i asked for additional sauce and the waitress kindly brought the sauce until another waitress came 2 minutes later shouting to the other waitress 'pourquoi tu a laisse la sauce sur la table!!!' she then grabbed it quickly from the table and left us without any explanations! sorry if i sound pedantic but i think that a few things if improved could make drastic improvements - and this is what many other people i know had also noticed
Best Regards.

I wanted to try the restaurant "Le Relais de Venise, l'Entrecote" in London for quite a while and last night it happened. With my partner and a couple of friends, we discovered this place close to the beginning of Marylebone High Street (the address is 120 Marylebone Lane, London W1U 2QG, 020 7486 0878). The inside is typically like a French brasserie with rows of tables almost adjacent to each other. The menu is simple...there is no menu. The dinner was salad with vinaigrette for a starter and trims of entrecote steak with a delicious sauce and plenty of French fries. We had a bottle of red wine "Pays d'Oc" (only 18£ the bottle). We also got a second round of the main course. The only menu you get is for desserts and wines. The desserts are very tempting from Lemon Tart, Vacherin, Profiterolles, Mont Blanc...The dinner was quickly served and the staff efficient and welcoming. At the beginning, the restaurant was half empty but then around 8.30pm, it was totally full with people waiting inside to get a table available. The bill is gentle 30£ per head with wine and desserts. The entrecote and salad is only 17£. My conclusion is if you are looking for an easy lunch/dinner and quality (steak only) food in London with no frills....just go there!

The food is fine, though I was slightly underwhelmed.
Overall, a relaxing place for a casual dinner on a weeknight. Would not wait in line though.
The sauce was very different from what I knew from the 'Cafe de Paris' in Geneva. Instead of something like a whipped herb butter it was really a creamy sauce that was *excessively* (!) flavored with powdered thyme which gives things an overly intense taste. Too overwhelming for the steak. Can't say if that was a slip up of the day or just the way the chef likes it.
Chips were great, steak was all right. It was a bit chewy, although cutting it, it felt very tender, not sure why.
The sauce style - CdP versus RdV - will obviously be a matter of taste and probably the big divide between the two London establishments, but I really prefer the Baker Street one, Cafe de Paris.
Admittedly, their herb butter will tend to separate over heat which this sauce does not (probably some flour or starch is added to prevent that), but I still strongly prefer it wrt taste.
In terms of service I found both perfectly all right, nice people.

The salad was good, and the steak frites ok. But I really do like my steak cooked medium rare which the kitchen refused to do, and my meat arrived overcooked. I wouldn't go again.

Truly amazing! I can't believe how similar it is to the Paris one, I actually felt like I was in Paris. We had to queue for a short time as we went on a saturday night but they have a tent outside with heaters so we were nice & warm whilst we waited. Food was great and what a lovely atmosphere. A huge difference to the Cafe de Paris Entrecote experience I had in Baker Street that we went to about 10 days ago. I was really pleasantly surprised especially after reading the bad reviews this restaurant has had. I truly recommend Le Relais to those of you who like steak & fries. Well done to the Relais de Venise, I take my hat off to you after all the copies that have opened and closed in this city I can truly say you are 100% the real thing. London FINALLY has a great steak place.

The concept is simple yet magic. The London restaurant is outstanding so far as food and atmosphere are concerned. Many have experience Le Relais in Paris, but this in my opinion is even better. The meat is lean, the fries and perfect. A must go.

Have been going to the original one in Paris for years. This feels exactly as if I am in Paris! Great food, good service, best steak and chips in London! Highly recommended...and if you still have room try the desserts!

Reasonably priced with a good atmosphere and great service, Le Relais De Venise knocks the socks off all other competition. Quite frankly, its the best steak and chips in town.
