My Fiance and I went to this restaurant last night - for a Thursday I was surprised how busy it was.

All I would say is that this restaurant is very very pleasant without being mind-blowing. The food was nice as well as delivered quickly - the staff helpful. It wasn't that expensive either.

All in all a pleasant experience. I would recommend it.

This is a great restaurant. The food, athmosphere and service are excellent and at reasonable prices too.

I can recommend the house clams or grilled sardines to start and the fish stew as a main.

Being Portuguese myself and after living in the UK for over 13 years, I have finally came across a Portuguese restaurant with authentic Portuguese Cuisine and cooked to near perfection (of course my mom does it better). Great atmosphere with Fado playing in the background and friendly but professional service. Not to be missed.

The reviews on this website made this our choice for a Friday evening meal out...and I'm glad we went.

This is the epitome of a cracking family run & family friendly restaurant.

This is simply one of the best restaurants in Crystal Palace (and there are a few good ones). You know how you go to a restaurant and love it and when you go back it's always a bit of a disappointment... not A Torre.

I think I've eaten everything on the menu more than once. The fish stew and the spicy pork with pickles will not disappoint. Wash it down with a bottle of the portuguese wine and I can guarantee you will have a good time.

Very reliable and authentic family run restaurant. They serve dishes which will be familiar to those nostalgic for their portuguese holidays, such as pork and clams, caldo verde, bacalao a gomes de sa, fish dishes, mixed grilled fish etc, and do so well. The main courses are about a tenner and all inclusive; wines are about £5 for a half of house and £10-£13, the expresso is good, and theservice friendly.

They also do special lunches for £5 which are a good deal if youre in the area.

I have been visiting this restaurant almost since it opened and have always had a great time.

The staff are very warm and friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed but buzzy and reminds me of all of the best types of ''holiday '' restaurants.

The food is typical Portuguese with lots of fish and grilled food and some Portuguese specials and is always really nicely cookedand presented. Wine is also good value.

All in all this is a great local Restaurant to go with friends when you want to relax, enjoy good food and wine without spending a fortune.

Small family run business which has become a firm favourite with the locals. The food is hearty, tasty and always generously portioned making it extremely good value for money. Particularly good as starters are the flamed chorizo, spicy king prawns and clams. For mains, the piri piri chicken is really good and they can make it to varying degrees of spiciness depending on your resistence to the stuff. It comes served with lots of veggies or chips and salad if you prefer. Equally good is the bacalhau lavrador (a traditional dried cod dish cooked in tomato sauce with a layer of potatoes). The fish stew is particularly flavoursome, brothy with a good selection of fish, prawns, squids and clams – just what a fish stew should be. A.Torre is a lovely place to eat, simple and unfussy, and with attentive and friendly staff. Hence why myself and my husband have been going there time and time again.
