We went to De Amicis for my birthday with a group of friends. We found a very busy and vibrant Italian restaurant, and this was a Wednesday night. The service was both friendly and efficient. The food although simple and traditional Italian with a slight contemporary twist was obviously cooked with dedication and some very good seasonal ingredients. That night was what they called their fish night, and the selection and quality on offer was simply amazing. Try their lobster. One of my friends ate the Linguine Crab and said it was just about the best he'd ever tried. My wife at Monkfish in a prawn and saffron sauce and was very impressed.
A must try place. Not too expensive eithet

I was looking forward to an authentic Italian meal but instead found the food bland and uninspiring. Worse still, the service was dreadful and not once during the 2 hours we were there did a waiter come by to check on us. I had to flag the waiter time and time again to clear our plates, for the desert menu, for the check. A serious let down and I would not recomment it to anyone

This restaurant is a real find, a genuine, local, family-run restuarant in London. We booked it blind because its one of the few restaurants which would take a booking for 12 and we had no idea what to expect. The staff were friendly and welcoming, (even when some of our party were late arriving) and the food was excellent and reasonably priced. If you're fed up with trendy bars and spotty teenage staff this is a restaurant that takes its food and customer service seriously. We'll definitely be back.
