de Ville

I was up in London on business with a colleague and ended up at the deVille Restaurant.
The venue is simply stunning. There is no other word for it. We sat in comfortable soft chairs and enjoyed a cocktail in the bar before adjourning to the dining room.
The atmosphere in the dining room was vibrant yet relaxed with dim lighting and fresh flowers on the tables.
Our waiter was fantastic even choosing the wine we had with each course.
The food was absolutely out of this world. The food was so fresh and I would whole heartedly recommend the Lemon sole with capers for a main followed by white and dark chocolate mousse for dessert.
All in all a top place with exquisite food and service. I will be going again. Soon.

One word... dreadful!
Staff didn't understand Engish and the chef managed to serve raw turkey to one of my friends. Food was also quite poor compared to other similar establishments.
Far too many staff who needed co-ordinating by someone but no manager in sight. Staff obsessed with serving bread but couldn't get anything else right!
Drinks were extremely expensive although we were already aware of us this before we booked..

I was unaware of this restaurant before, but am glad I found it out. It is a nice to see a restaurant like this in an area where you find everything but British cuisine. I thoroughly enjoyed the selection and the taste of the food. The waiter was more than helpful in suggesting a good wine to go with my dinner. And the decor of the place is fantastically unique.

Went to de Ville recently for dinner with 3 others. Started with drinks at the very cool 'De Vigne' bar next door. The restaurant has wonderfully stylish (and eclectic) decor. Both service and food were top-notch and my dining companions agreed. Returned for a fantastically priced prix-fixe lunch the week after. I would strongly recommend this place whether for business lunches or romantic dinners. A great addition to Marylebone Village and the London restaurant scene.
